Frigidaire Model Question

My parts book shows parts for Frigidaire washer models up to 1971. All models up to 1964 had a specific model number (ie, "WIA-63" etc.). But in 1965 it appears they went to a single letter designation. My parts book uses the letters "J" "K" "L" "N" "P" "S" for models after 1965.

Can anyone here tell me what year each letter represents? More specifically which is 1968 as well?

Bud, '68 is "N" with the exception of a few "WX" machines that were "P".

While "J" is for 1965 models, washers and dryers were still identified with numbers that year (unlike most other Frigidaire appliances that had switched to letters).

"K" is for 1966 models (, "L" for 1967, "N" is for 1968 (But "N" models were manufactured from mid-1967 to mid-1970). "P" is for 1969 and also identifies machines that were made between mid-1968 to mid-1970. There were no "R" washers (1970) and the "S" models were the 1971 "1-18" machines introduced in mid-1970.

After mid-1974, the letter codes for model year identification was gone.

Phil, I remember some refrigerators with the "TT" prefix, such as FPCI 170 TT. 1973?

Kenny, the first "T" was for "Top freezer", models with a "V" were side by side models (Vertical), previously, there were also "B" models for "Bottom freezer". The second "T" in your example was the letter designating 1972 models.

There were also weird models like "N-R" models from the early 1970s. I don't know why they were labeled that way, maybe because they were updated "N" models.
