Hi everyone,  these just came up for sale in Salt Lake City.  The seller needs them gone within the next week or so.    These are very cool machines and while I would love to have them I simply do not have room.   However I cannot let them get scrapped so quickly; I am going to pick them up this week & will be housing them at my Habitat ReStore.   If anyone is interested in these please get in touch with me asap.  I cannot hold them at the store more than 30 days; after that I will have to sacrifice them to scrap.  The price for the set is $150.   I do not know yet what condition they are in, but I've been told they do work.

Once I have them I will post more pics & try them out briefly for functionality.

Please, someone save these!

And the year is ....

1961! A WIA-61

The clear timer knobs with that outer scallop design was a one year only.

I cleaned up the money shot pic a bit to see down inside. Looks like a lot of rust in the tub bottom and some around the sides unfortunately. But in pink! Someone save these!

I have this same washer .... but it's the WIAR-61 suds-saver model in white.

We had a Top Value Stamp Store in our shopping center. On display were these Frigidaires and one winter's day I shopped the owner's manual for the washer. It was the same manual for both the Custom Imperial and Imperial washers. My appliance obsession led me to a life of crime, but unfortunately, not enough. Ah, when I think of the agitators I passed up in discarded machines because of the honesty inculcated in my mind.

Saved & Spoken For

The set has a new owner & new lease on life!  I will let the buyer reveal themselves at their discretion.

I picked up the set today and they are in very good condition. It's apparent they haven't been used recently, but I don't think they sat idle for too long. They were in a well cared for home, and in a clean utility room. The house was built in the early 60's and is part of a golf-course community; the house was an MCM enthusiats dream!

I cleaned up the machines a bit and have posted more pics.  Everything appears to operate normally; the transmission works smoothly and the spin was super smooth & quiet.   The pulsator rings are somewhat stiff to super stiff.  I did not handle them too much for fear of cracking.  They may soften up once hot water is in the machine again.   I will try the dryer on Saturday (i'm not in the store tomorrow).   Enjoy the pics!
