Hi guys, I'm doing some research for a friend of mine that will need a new Top Load washer soon. His 35 year old Maytag is nearing the end.
His repair guy said the (plastic pieces) that allow the tub to spin (maybe the "Snubber Ring")or something else is broken and or maybe the repair guy doesn't want to dismantle the whole machine. (I personally didn't see what was wrong).
I've looked at (online research) GE and Maytag top loaders but people seem to not like them (have complaints about them failing too soon or not washing well).
The new Speed Queen is just not the same anymore. The wash action is just so weak. I've recommenced a Speed Queen (2017 model) to another friend and she loves it. I couldn't in good faith suggest the 2018 model.
So would a Frigidaire FFTW4120SW be a decent compromise?
It will do a deep fill on Heavy Duty and Bulky cycles, otherwise it would load sense on other cycles and add just enough water.
He's more the old school type and likes top loaders, otherwise I would suggest an Electrolux, LG or Whirlpool Front Loader.
I also suggested to him a good used machine from Craig's List or and Estate sale.
Any suggestions would be helpful and thanks in advance for your feedback.
