Does anyone have pic.s of a Frigidaire top load dishwasher to share. I have seen most brands of top loaders but have very little info on Frigidaire. I think they started out with impeller wash ?? I remember seeing a ad for a machine that the lid was very deep at the back & shallow at the front (easy loading) I think. Any info or pic's on this would be greatly appreciated. Michael

The impeller Frigidaires were made by D&M. I do know about the one you speak of later part of you post, but I never saw one in person nor did I see an ad with the top open.

I have seen One MIke

Before the Walterboro Salvation army closed they had a Frigidaire dishwasher that you describe Mike. The top was about 12" lower in the front that the back making the sides of a top triangular. very big and bulky The interior looked to me like a GE clone with a spray arm and tower. I could not tell you the year but it was rusted out pretty bad down by the pump well and the top was very flimsy I bet it was louds as all get out.

Frigidaire dishwashers

The models you are speaking of were known as the FRIGIDAIRE Dishmobiles. They had models available from the Super to the Custom Imperial.Differences were Controls, racks, wash system(Super Surge with 7 bladed stainless steel pulverizer disposer built in)levls, and controls. The Imperial and Custom Imperial models came with a solid wood butcher block top and the Custom Imperial model had an optional 160 degree Sani Wash button as well as lighted cycle board to show which part of the cycle the dishmobile was in.The reason the top was lower at the front than at the back was two fold.It made it a lot easyer to reach the bottom rack for loading and unloading and it made it easyer to have larger upper racks to hold more glassware and saucers on models so equiped. The most expensive model (DWCIP)sold for about $299.they were available from 1963 to 1970.
