Frigidaire WCI-63 for sale

One of the prettiest Frigidaire models ever!
Well, I ended up getting this beauty.
The cabinet and console look new. There is a very small crack at the lower right corner of the console light panel, barley noticeable. The paint and finished look nearly perfect, like the machine was 2-3 years old!
When I got it home, I noticed on the back panel it stated "Mechanism must be properly bolted down." Shit!!! I didn't do that! How could I tell if it was damaged?
The pulsating action works nice and quiet. However, the spin cycle is horrid and shakes the foundation! The tub isn't completely center so I'm wondering if there is an adjustment for that? I'm willing to bet it might cure the shaky spin cycle. The brake works in a quiet and effective manner.
I haven't filled it with water yet to check for leaks, but I'm guessing it doesn't leak if it was used by the previous owner that recently passed away.
This machine appears to have VERY low mileage on it. I guess I'll play with it for a while and see if it surpasses my love for a vintage Maytag washer that matches my push button dryer. It isn't exactly winning in the spin cycle department at the moment, LOL.
Pics will have to wait until Tuesday. I let a friend borrow the camera until then.

Eh, after playing with the machine for an hour, I don't know. I think I got caught up in the Frigidaire hype I've been reading here for the last 3 years and wanted to try it out. It's OK, but not the orgasmic experience I imagined.
The machine has a lot less flexibility than a TOL Maytag. It's also much nosier and "clunky" than my 28 years of Maytag experience.

Whatever is the closest match to a DE-750 dryer. I was told a 900 or 902.
By the way, what transmission is in this baby? Rollermatic?
How can I gain access to the guts? Is it through the top panel? It certainly isn't through the back, front or side panels. Thanks in advance!

The last time I touched a GM Frigidaire (of about the same vintage as yours, I think) was back in 1966. So to answer your question, I don't know if that is a Rollermatic or Multimatic or even a Unimatic. As far as getting a peek inside, the top is probably where I'd start, and I'd look for clips in the join between the top and front panel that I could push in and release the top... but I think you'd better ask Robert/Unimatic for guidance on this. I wouldn't want to give you any guess at advice that results in damage to the washer or yourself.

That would be a Multi-Matic, unless the machine was changed over to a Roller-Matic at some point. Greg Nunn told me that he once saw a Frigidaire service bulletin that explained how to change the Multi-Matic machines over to the newer Roller-Matic mechanism. My understanding is that the swap out was fairly easy to perform.
I am thinking that the front panel came off of these for service, but I could be thinking of my 1971 1-18. I just parted out a 1961 Custom Imperial, and the front panel did NOT come off of that one. I owned a 1963 Frigidaire Custom, and am fairly certain the front panel did come off on that model though.

Just ask any and all questions you want! I won't touch the Maytag vs. 'real' Frigidaire question but we all have a warm spot in our hearts for the thumpers. In the end, both wonderful brands ended up with horrible new owners. Which fate is worse, White or Whirlpool, gah - 'twere better both had died an honorable death.
One small warning. If you lift the top, be very careful of the fill hose. At some point in the 1960's, GM used a material for that hose which not only cracked very easily, but also was extremely flammable (a long story, but working in college dorms, you see everything). The pump housing at the bottom of the motor is also easily cracked.

#1 Was this with or without clothes in it
#2 Is the back panel in place (without the back panel on there will be more vibration)
#3 Were all four feet level on the ground?

1963 Frigidaire
Don't know what the deal is with the people selling the 1963 Frigidaire on the SF Peninsula, but they said they would not accept my money order in payment and they didn't seem to want to be patient until I could arrange to have it shipped to me. I wasn't offering a Western Union money order, which are notorious for having bogus copies sent in their place, but was offering one from the local supermarket. Anyway, it wouldn't have taken more than two days, at best, to get from here to there, but the sellers didn't want to be bothered.

Back panel was (and still is) in place.
Speaking of the rear cabinet, what's that little access panel at the bottom for? Belt changing? This machine is so mint, I'm afraid of taking anything apart without knowing the consequences.

After fiddling with the feet, it doesn't shake as bad. If I rock the tub laterally from left to right, I hear a slight knocking noise. Anything to be concerned about? Rocking it forwards and backwards is quiet. As stated before, I didn't bolt down the mechanism before transporting the machine. What damage could occur from this idiotic mistake?
I've also been (proudly) storing and running it in the living room on a wood floor, which isn't as stable as the concrete floor in the wash room.
The spin cycle is still nowhere close to being as smooth and quiet as my Maytag. The rubber around all four leveling feet were coming off (probably more like deteriorating) when I was moving it around. When I head back up to Reno, I'll see if the appliance shop there can find me some genuine Frigidaire rubber feet to properly level it again. I probably should get a new belt (or belts) too. Anything else I should purchase?

Good possibility. I guess I could remove the small access panel in the rear and take a look. I sure hope that isn’t the case since finding a new brace would be next to impossible. Thanks for your input!
