Frigidiare Deluxe Dryer Model DD-62

Does anyone know what this looks like? There's one for sale about an hour and half away from here for $35. Suppose to work and be in great shape. But they have no pic.

well Rich, if it's not going to match my 1-18, what am I gonna do with it? Put it up on here for sale or trade for a DEC-5? Shoot, I think I'm the only person in california, except for one other person, who likes 1-18's or Frigidaire's for that matter. I wonder how hard it is to paint it Harvest Gold?

I might be wrong, but early Frigidaire model numbers used to be easy to figure out what they meant.

The first D would be dryer.
The second D would be deluxe.
The 62 should be the model year.

It would be a cool dryer none the less.

wide open...why are there two lint screens? how do you use them?

there it is. I took the back off to take the picture and clean it. been cleaning it for the last several hours!! will have fresh clean pix tomorrow and hope to move it into the house for a trial run!! The porcelain top is really decent but the cabinet is pretty scuffed and yellow with a bit of rust here and there...you think I should sand, prim and paint it? _thanks --James

Lint Screen

James,

There should be only one lint screen. If it is like my 1964 Frigidaire dryer, the lint screen is located in the dryer door. You just pull up on it and remove it. The holes on the bottom of the dryer door opening is the port plate. Moist air from the drum pass through the holes in the dryer door, the lint screen filters lint from the air. The air then travels the openings in the port plate, or the bottom of the dryer door opening. the air then travels through an air duct chamber and flexible duct into the centrifugal blower housing. The centrifugal blower forces the air through a flexible duct to be discharged through the exhaust opening.
