Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Andrew,

Yes, I know all about the old true Oasis, but they are no longer in production.
Whirlpool has abandoned the DD hall sensor rotor and stator design.
Yes, we have all unloaded on here including you.
If you've read any of my early posts, I said I am not one to be messed with.
Obviously, MR. Greg Bushman saw that and decided to let me have it, and I gave it right back to him.

With that said;

Must we be so frustrated by our washing machines? I have more important problems in life than need to worry wether my washer will be up to the next weeks laundry.
It's as if it were a dozen years old already.
Frankly, I don't feel there are any good ones worthy of helping me run my household today.
How sad that is.
With a galvanized tub, and a wooden one, I can smash grapes for wine with one foot, and wash clothes with the other.

I have more important problems in life....

Well jeez, then why are you here then?
That's the whole POINT of this forum.
To discuss, share, vent, lament, laugh, fix, cry, oooo and ahhh over the appliances we have in our homes.

If you see no point in that, then I see no point in your participation.
Not a jab.
Just my observation.

Johnb300,

Point well taken, but it has been worth it for the photos, comradere, and education of the vintage appliances.
There is a nice avocado green Maytag center dial pair for sale not too far away I may be having a look at. Like on "That 70's Show".

I don't really understand why I even get on this site anymore...

@vacerator - My entire point was that my machine IS a true Oasis?! The machine IN MY VIDEOS IS the old Oasis?!?! At what point did I "decide to mess with you"? And at what point did I say anything instigating you to "let me have it right back"? I simply pointed out why my machine does not have a splutch or gearbox, so the noise could not be coming from them. When did I say anything insinuating that I meant it to offend or insult you?

After the third time now of you unjustifiably jumping down my throat for literally NO REASON, it is obvious that you sir, are a troll. Your only point on this site is to spew your "know all, end all" knowledge in everyone's faces, but don't take the time to realize that you MAY NOT BE CORRECT on some things, as clearly displayed above. Hell, I would even tip the washer forward, and take video of me removing the rotor and stator, the agitator and tub, down to the bare driveshaft to show that it IS the "DD hall sensor rotor stator design/the true Oasis/the F&P SmartDrive/the whatever-name-you-want-to-call-it design"...but honestly at this point you're not worth the time or the effort. Go Google a freaking picture dude.

Also, don't comment on my posts again because obviously you have no intentions of simply contributing to the conversation respectfully and with something valuable to say.

As you wish, however,

did I say you messed with me? No. I said Mr. Bushman did. He was not part of our discussion either.
Yes, it is funny at that Henrik. Have we read all of the thread "Now Samsung"?
Acht der Lieber!
Sauer braten Munchner schnitzel, and spaetzel.
Sclemiel, sclemazel.

my reply Andrew

if you read it #17 I just said of my experience also I don't over load, but that little blob of clothes at the bottom of your machine looked like a waste of 1:23 mins, also being the owner @ 1 time of those piles O. S. duets, timer says 55.mins go down 1:30 mins later there she is 20 mins left just flippin & a floppin(that's what I named those p.o.s. the flip flops)went & bought a used 98 maytag washer, took the clothes right from the duet & put them on rinse in the tag & the water was gray, did the same thing with the comforters (that I only ran in the flip flops)put 1 in at time in the S.Q. & the wash water was BLACK (nasty)so that's my experience with HE washers, never again. as for vacerator getting pissy don't know him,as for henene4 guess he just wants to be a smart ass & stir the pot, thats why I responded like I did to him.

my take to murando531...

my take is that Whirlpool has decided to use those pancake motors and add a gearbox to their new cabrio/bravos designs to not only address the belt and pulley issue, but to also also address the rotor and stator problems as well. I could either be wrong or just mistaken.

I'm with you on that

Glomain.
I'm just a guy who tries to get along with others, and have a nice time.
Folks in your area are generally very friendly as well form my own experience.
Once when I was about 4 years old, I went shopping with my mom in East Liverpool.
I saw a store with Matchbox cars in the display window, and lost my mom because I ran back to look at them inside.
A lady saw me upset and cared enough to ask me where I last saw my mom.
She stayed with me until we found my mom, and even called the police. Just as I was about to go with the officer, I spotted my mom in front of Isaly's.

@glomain

So I am the smart ass (which I take as rudeness against me), then you're something worse then that. I mean, you suddenly hoppend into this thread and complained and said we'd be wrong.
Oh, and then, by your definition, Andrew (the OP) would classify as smart ass as well, which I can't second, at all. Like, not even if you'd pay me for it.

Oh, and funny, your SQ cleaned a comforter? How big? How fluffy? Because either it did not circulate at all, and put a heavy strain on the drive system, or... Well, there is basicly no other option, I guess.
And if your comforter produces black wash water, there might be other factors then the washer. I mean, I have to wash all of our cleaning rags every few weeks, and they don't produce black water. And we clean our floors with these things. Staircases, our basement, our little work shop area. Towels used to clean shoes. Such stuff.

water was gray?

after you washed them in your duets and then ran them through the tag?

That made me think: I wonder if it's like vacuuming. The last vacuum always wins, because no vacuum can get all the dirt. I wonder if you had washed them in the maytags, and then the duets, if the water might be gray?

I agree with you that my Duet's annoy me when it comes to deciding to spin, but it always ultimately spins in a reasonable amount of time. I can TELL if my clothes are clean are not, and they are clean! My machine uses enough water to clean them, there's plenty of sloshing going on, no mold ever, drum smells perfectly clean...I still like OLD washers too! I'm just saying that so far, I have NO problems with some of the newer machines.....
