Not in person,

but I have a December '63 LIFE with an ad for this model in it.

I think it's a good idea....for people without small children! :) :)

Yes,
I have seen, and played with one....
Many years ago.
Very good stereo, and very rare.
Why don't you bend your taste, and snatch it?
It is a good deal if it is in as good as shape as the photo's.
Offer $35 USA monies as a start......

A surprising number of companies made these coffee-table stereos. Even Western Auto had a full line of them.

While it sounds like a good idea (I wouldn't mind having the Julie London model, myself), if the table is positioned in front of the couch, there just isn't any good place to run the cord; no matter what, someone's going to trip over it.

I have an old Burstein-Appleby (sp?) catalog that was clearing out the cabinets (no innards, just the cabinets) for $14.88.

Go get it, Dan-o!

OK, I have to ask: What is the "Julie London" model?

And yes, I am getting it. Trading it for a rocking chair that I didn't know what to do with :-)

If it works out, I might end up selling the Motorola. It's a beauty, but it's just too big. Plus, there's a short or something in the vibra-sonic unit which causes it to kick in unexpectedly, and that's annoying. I don't want to haul it all the way to the stereo store.

So if anyone wants a Motorola (with cabinet by Drexel!) drop me an email.

Congratulations, dalangdon!

That is one truly cool stereo - this calls for a celebration. Break out the Jack Daniels and once Conway and Dottie are done how about some Ray Price? If it had that 10" Portacolor you could watch Bonanza on it while sipping your drink, but I know I'd prefer Conway, Dottie, and Ray.
