YOUCRATE would not ship my washer using the AWorg discount because it did not tell me it was an automatic washer. So I said fine, I'll use UFO. You'll see the alien craft in the upper right. Larry King's been all over me.

The beginning of this story is dedicated to Geoff, ABC-& Turbo-matics, and all wringer men & women and those who love them. And of course EVERYBODY ELSE With xtreme affection.

The Mighty Norge Semi

The Lady's Maytag went kaput, so when she asked her husband to buy her a new machine, he bought her a '53 (?) Unimatic, but she was afraid of it and wouldn't use it, and convinced him to buy another Wringer. They compromised and agreed on a Semi-automatic.

But the headstrong husband tried to trick the Lady

skillfully, by disguising the Frigidaire as a Norge

He had learned in a futuristic dream of Robert's experim

and attempted to install the Norge Behemoth Paddle Spanker atop the Grand Pulsator, but she caught on right away and was having none of that thank you very much mister smarty pants

Insisting that he put that agitator right back where it belo

Alas, the man lacked Robert's special secret tool to make the Paddle adhere to the Pulsator, so the man could not pretend that it was stuck forever. She knew about his lacking tool, so back into the Norge the Paddle went.

But then. out of nowhere, Geraldine, the author's mother

totally healed from her stroke, and driving like a teenager on fast heavily trafficked roads, and said: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, you bought another washing machine when your deck looks like hell and needs at least two coats of Thompson's Oil Stain. What are you waiting for

And Michael said: Well I see you're all better and hey, you're the one who held me over the Frigidaire on Tenessee Street when you could have thrown me in the corner and said no more washing machines, Mary Jane.

Well I was trying to be a good mother, you ungrateful bastard! (smiling)

So Geraldine went home and the Man and the Lady came back

but the poor Lady suddenly went on to whatever bliss comes next, and, sad, the Man pushed the washer aside forever, untouched by water, never plugged in.... a washer now so old that it has a tag on the cord which today can only be called amusing and quaint: I M P O R T A N T 'For your protection, this service cord contains a THIRD wire which serves as an electrical ground..." etc.

High pressure water and fast fills are always a gamble in co

such that the hose can fly out if you're not attentive or get called away, so I attached the Hoover fill coupler which snuggly fits into the drain hose; thus I can fill from the bottom, kind of like a fresh water suds return; unfortunately, the pic of the coupler somehow did not take.
