I acquired a GE dryer Model DDE7100NCLWH - It needed a new belt which we replaced. I put it on auto dry last night with a load of jeans. It never shut off. I'm assuming the sensor is bad but I could be wrong. Also it didn't appear to get as hot as I thought it should. Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

How's the venting?  Is it possible it may be clogged somewhere?

Also, how does the dryer perform on a timed cycle - does it get hot or just stay cool?

GE Dryer Not Shutting Off

This is probably just a Time-Temp shut off system on auto dry, first question are both heaters heating properly, if you run the dryer with the door open it should glow fairly brightly behind the drum before shutting off on the safety thermostat in a minute or two.

Paul: I cleaned the exhaust system and it seems to be working fine. I haven't tried it on "Timed Cycle" yet but I will check it tonight.

John: I will check this out tonight also.
