if anyone knows where i can find a pump seal for this g.e. mobile maid dishwasher i bought while at matt's place in michigan i would greatly appreciate the info!

i haven't tried it out yet but matt told me it does leak and i don't want to hurt the motor by getting it wet. i will be tearing it down soon to see what's going on. i have had no luck yet in locating a seal from any of the parts sites on the web. i was hoping maybe one of you guys has a similiar model and knows where a seal can be found, or maybe has an extra seal i could buy!

i have ordered seals for the other machines i brought back, the frigidaire and kelvinator (d&m) are still stock items. the kitchenaids are available from hobart and i have plenty of them. i am determined to get this beautiful old g.e. up and running again.

does anyone know if a pump seal co. might be able to make one or somehow match it up? i'm not gonna give up on this little mobile maid! the model no. is sm301d2.

thanks for your help guys, you always steer me right!

here's the pump and spray arm

it has a vertical pump and motor so it is an old one from the 60's i would guess. i know i bought a g.e. portable for my aunt in 1972 and by then they were using the horizontal style pump and motor. and it was not a "mobile maid", in fact i remember seeing this style machine in the stores in the 68-70 time period.

Wash Arm

That Baby is definately from the 60's. Good Luck. I have a guy that is still trying to rebuild my '57 Mobile Maid Motor.Your's should be easier to find then my '57. I just aquired another motor , but won't have time to test it until the fall. (I think). Eddie
I know that machine. It pushes alot of water, and they clean great . If I hear of anything I'll contact you.

thanks,

appreciate it, good luck with your's. i thought motors could be sent out and rewound and new bearings installed pretty easily. guess not, huh?!?

Hmmm... the wash assembly looks so much like the ones that made it right to the end of the 80's. Could one of these seals possibly work?? Wish I still had our family's 78 Potscrubber - the wash arm was very similar to yours!

they used the pump

and motor that is mounted sideways. the pump and motor are below the tub, i have had many of those. this one has a pump inside the tub and the motor is mounted directly underneath it with the seal on the lower drain impeller.

sorry that pic doesn't show pump very well, i will take a better one. if worst comes to it i will take pump apart and take pics of seal. i will also start contacting pump seal companies.

thanks for the input i appreciate it! we all know we love to get our machines up and running! this one will run! i am determined!
