Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Don't they sell dishwashers with integrated water-softener in th USA? That would solve the hard-water problem and fix the bad cleaning problem!

Well Brent I guess both that is not to much to ask I don't think. You would be puzzled to if you laid down alot of money and it not clean well, when you have a G.E. Triton that is not much different than this one and it cleaned great.I LOVE 1984 Kitchenaid dishwasher's but where I live I don't see many used ones.I guess the fence sitting part is cause well I had a ton a friends email me and tell me to try real detergent with Phosphates in the machine because of our water here and the biggest issue for me is well losing a leg sometimes sucks cause it's a pain to install them myself and I am throwing money out the window cause I pay to have it installed if I exchange it again....

No the don't sell them well they do but they are very rare with the salt dispensers in them.Ariston dishwasher's are the only ones I have seen that had it and they are made in Italy I think. There are other brands I am sure like Smeg and a few other's but the mainstream ones nope not at all. Here in Tenn our water is very hard in the city and up on our farm it comes from a spring well and it's even harder water.

Hey Wes,
Sorry that my post came across as an ass.
I am now thinking that you never received my emails or seen the post that I posted on your subjects in the past.
I had / have offered to help you find a vintage KA. Asked you what models you were interested in, etc.
I should not assume that you received my email and just did not answer. Sorry about that.
I agree with you 100% however about spending money. If you don't like this dishwasher bring it back. I have found with dishwashers that if you make excuses for them at the beginning it will only get worse with time and you will run out of excuses for "liking" it. In your case it sounds like you can bring it back if you are not happy.
I apologize. I just assumed that you had read my emails...and that you knew where I was coming from.

I have to agree , if you are not happy with the dishwasher, take it back. Not clear on where the problem lies here though, water, machine or detergent.

I've had a number of GEs over the years, when the last one died after 7 years I decided I'd go for a Whirlpool, special ordered it for Sears, and hatred it from the second I turned it on. I tried to like it, but just could not get myself to. Hated it so much I took a $50 loss on getting rid of it.

Got a upper mid range GE and have not looked back. Looked hard for a plastic tub model with all the features I wanted, HATE stainless interiors, and this model delivers. Love this machine, it does a great job, just toss the dishes in, never pre rinse, and turn it on. Lots of options if I want them but it's extremely rare to get a dirty dish out of the unit.

P.S. stocked up on Cascade with phosphates, going to GFS to see what they have to offer too.

Thanks Brent for clearing things up.I have not got any emails from you at all.I do although remember something about a Old machine now but I have Epilepsy and the meds I take do a number on my memory. I have been seizure free for years and my Seizures are very violent and terrible and at one time was having 18 a month I don't like the side effects but I lost one leg cause of them.I have these last few weeks just upgraded from Win Xp to Windows 7 Ultimate and Comcast has change Anti-virus so I have a feeling email's are getting tagged wrong again. My Dishwasher has been working perfect sense I found Cascade with Phosphorus in it the dishes everything are spotless even burnt baked beans on the top shelf came out without a spec.I ordered a huge bag of S.T.T.P. so that should fix my problem sense it was the detergent and water hardness after all.
