Scented powders. New Ideas!

I would like the detergent manufacturers to be a little more adventurous with their scented powders. Let's give them some ideas. How would you like to wash your bedsheets with these new detergent scents:
*Back room at the Leatherworld bar
*First-date musk
*Funeral home
*New-car smell (Great for the car-buff)
*Cat-litter-fresh

Whatever happened to:

A few of those are still out there

Hey Chuck,

We can get Trend and Fresh Start here in Charlotte and I saw Rinso at a convenience store in Florida last fall.

Trend is on the shelves at one grocery store I go to in several sizes including those big old style boxes with the plastic carrying handles, still in a one-cup formula. Fresh Start is also available, but at a different store (that store's pricing department must think it comes out of gold mines).

We had Oxydol here until a couple years ago, maybe less...the brand name had apparently been bought from P&G as I didn't recognize the manufacturer's name. The formula at least smelled and looked similar. I was wondering the other day where it went.

I know that Dash was dropped by P&G a number of years ago, but not before it got as far as the Ultra liguid formula, as I kept a bottle in case I wanted to refill it. Tossed it about a year ago.

Let me know if you want any Trend or Fresh Start.

same here in Florida

You can still find Oxydol here in Orlando,(liquid and powder) as well as Trend (liquid and powder),Ajax (liquid and powder), Fresh Start, Bold Plus,Purex Powder and Dash liquid.

Don't even consider wasting your $$ on Dash liquid,it is just plain terrible!

Also, does anyone remember Vel Pink Dishwashing liquid?? I was so excited to find it recently on one of my shopping excursions.
It still has that fabulous "rose scent" I remember as a kid
and leaves your hands oh so soft!

Trend.

Here in the Washington DC area the grocery store Shoppers Food Warehouse carries Trend in big boxes of powder. It is definitely bottom shelf cheap stuff. Anyone ever use it? Is it any good at all? I looked at the box and it said "no phosphates," damn!
Also, why is it impossible to get Cheer in a 120 load box anymore?

Anyone in Northern VA know where to get Fresh Start?
Dave

Palmolive (Puerto Rico) still manufactures Vel. I buy some every time I visit the island. It works well. I don't really use it but my Grandmother likes it - so I get it for her.

Hey Dave

I am not positive, but I have seen Fresh Start in Harris-Teeter up your way. I would also check out Safeway.

Good Luck

Dave - I was going to suggest Harris-Teeter too if they have them in your area. There's one about every other block or two in my area of Charlotte and they all have it. If you can't find it I can UPS you a bottle or two.

Harris Teeter is an excellent invasion to have...they sadly (but wisely) left Atlanta about 5 years ago. I've got to give them a lot of credit...I had their VIC card when they were in Atlanta, but expressly asked for no contact (i.e. no spam or junk mail). When they left Atlanta and sold most stores to Kroger...not a peep from Kroger about "we've got a new Kroger Plus card for you".

Harris Teeter is a pretty nice chain. Their no-questions asked, ever, policy toward customer service is great, and they do a splendid job keeping their stores up to date, clean, and well stocked. They are proud of their prices too, but still, a nice store. They're based right here in Charlotte Metro, so I guess we should have their flagship stores.

I am most often there during triple-coupon days. :-)

There used to be a scent called whitewater fresh. I loved it. I have about 1/2 a box left and it really gets my clothes clean and my white's, white (I sound like a commercial). LOL

You can try some of the dollar stores for the "Whitewater Fresh" Gain. I have seen the very large (120 load) size at Family Dollar stores. Not much left, I imagine since Gain adds and drops fragrances constantly. Funny, I used to think that all the Gain fragrances were overpowering. Now I feel that way about all the new Tide scents as well.

One of the few "newer" Gain scents that I found OK was "gentle breeze" - I guess that one is long gone as well. Also, I just found Gain way too foamy
