Gain Outdoor Sunshine

Unless Ol P&G has messed with the scent again, Gain Outdoor Sunshine powder, *in my opinion,* has a flavor similar to that of the old Bold 3 from back in the Eighties. Otherwise, Gain Joyful Expressions is the predecessor to Tide Simple Pleasures. Both P&G brands have a variety of fruit or flowery flavored fragrances which attempt to appeal to consumers who might like their laundry to smell like all these scents. I, for one, have found "Plain" or Original Gain to be comparable to Tide in overall effectiveness. Depends on how much dirt and how tough the stains one wishes to get rid of. Note the Gain Laundry Web site seems to have a different variant of music every few months.--Laundry Shark

I've been using "outdoor fresh" poweder in my hettie in 1/3 cup measurements. works great!!!! and is very close to the original scent of gain I have found--no not the vintage gain, but gain before the started mess around with all the scents.

I use original Gain when I take a break from Mexican detergents. For front loaders at rollermatic 1-18, I used liquid Tide HE. I am satisfied with them all. Originally, I was original scent Tide user and will go back to that for a while. Nothing like a little variety.

Re Gain

It is the nastiest stuff that I ever used and the worst detergent that I can think of.!!! it just plain stinks. cant stand the smell of it and will not but it.
I would rather use FAB, Purex, Surf or tide regular cent. those I can handel the smell of

Phew!

Gain goes right up there with with most detergents these days. The only one I can stand is Tide HE Original Scent. I don't undertand why they have to make them smell so strong and (sorry ladies) florally smelling. I miss DASH, in the red box from the 60's to early eighties. Then they messed with it and changed the box to yellow and made in lemon flavor! Which right about now tho, thinking about it, wouldn't be so bad. A nice lemon scented (70's) FAB would be great too. Fresh Start was nice in the 80-90's, but seems like I bought a bottle a few years ago and it wasn't the same at all..smelled like they left the 'fresh' outta the recipe! How does one get a job at P&G in the soap making dept??! I think some of us should apply!! Oh well. Happy Saturday to all. I'm off to get a load on the line. It's a beatiful day here in Sunny Sacramento, CA. -Peace--James

I use Gain HE every day...

... as an air freshener in my linen closet. Yep, I opened a box of the powder several years ago, tried it once, took a whiff of the results, and put the box in a linen closet that tends to develop off odors.

The Gain fixed that.

Gain HE Powder works just as good as Tide for everyday laundry. Tide is a little better for very dirty clothes (work clothes for a plumber). But Gain HE Powder just disappeared off of the shelves just like everything else that works great. Has anyone seen Gain HE Powder lately?

Gain Detergent

I hate it and will not have it in the house . It aboulutely stinks!!!!!! smells like the avon dady exploded. that nasty flowery smell!!!!!
Fab liquid is very pleasant followed by Purex celan sent and my favorite of all Surf.

gain yes!!!

as detergents come and go,, this gain HE to me has a nice smell. i use also the matching fabric softener, for continuity. the fab softener smells nicer than the present "origional" downy.. i like the smell of the detergent and fabric softener, in my clothes..
why, oh why they took all those reat detergent scents off the market and changed them no one will ever know...
Fab, lemon fresh,, origional tide,, BOLD, oxydol, the smell of Lafrance... memories..
