Does anyone know how well Gain laundry detergent (powder) cleans? I am running low on Tide and picked up a box of Gain. I figured it would be as good since it is a P&G product. It is certainly cheaper than Tide.

I have used Gain detergent on and off. It cleans really well and has a fresh "bath soap" scent to it. However, be forewarned that it is an EXTREMELY high-sudsing detergent. The only detergents I have seen that produce more suds than Gain are Roma and Foca Mexican detergents.

Gain

it does the job good and it is awesome with bed sheets. plus the scent adds a good summer fresh clean scent to your clothes and sheets i use gain during the summer and tide in the winter lol

Gain

I like it. There is no more original sent in the stores in my area, I guess they replaced it with outdoor fresh.

I tried the Gain fabric softener after people mentioned how good it smelled.

Good? I'm not so sure. Strong? You betcha! I don't have much of a sense of smell, but when I have a load of freshly dried laundry ready to be folded, the smell practically knocks me out. And I don't use very much, either.

People with delicate constitutions can skip the following section:

Now, freshly dried laundry is apparently irresistable to weiner dogs, so there is usually a weiner buried among the pile. When we climb into bed, she is quite perfumed.

Yes! I sleep with my dog! Under the covers! And you know what? I kiss her tummy, too! ARRRGGGHHH!!! The germs, the germs!

Granny always said you have to eat a peck of dirt...

veg, who has the nerve to wonder why nobody wants to kiss him

Veg-

I'd be willing to kiss Honey the Wonder Weiner Dog and you (and probably that order) if you'd be willing to kiss LJ (Northeastern Ohio's bestest cat) and me
(probably in that order).

Love and laughter!

Gain promotion

All of a sudden in the last month or so there's been a real barrage of Gain laundry detergent ads on tv touting the smell, which is unusual because normally most tv ads are Tide related. Anyone else notice

Gain Detergent

I have the KitchenAid Ensemble front loading washer and dryer and am currently using the Gain with Bleach liquid.I use 1/2 capful and it DOES NOT make too much suds in my front loader.I also use the softner to help continue the aroma. It works great too.I highly recomend both as well as their HE detergent. It really gets my clothes clean and great smelling.Chuck

Lawrence, heaven knows my wonder weiner loves to be kissed! And I'd even be willing to give LJ a smooch or two. The sad reality is that Honey would look at LJ and think "Ah, the other white meat" and it would be downhill from there.
