I purchased the LG 4370 set. Got it installed and love it so far.
I noticed the gas burner is pretty loud. Sounds like a blow torch.
I have never heard such a loud gas burner in my life! Though I had a electric dryer my whole life- so I don’t know what it really should sound like.

Natural gas.

3/8 gas line to 1/2 gas line to house

Bought one of those dryer gas kits.

I did end up turning down the gas line, and it’s much quieter. Still has a good flame.

Wondered if you guys have an opinion of what the cause is? Google is saying, possibly the gas ignition is going out, but I highly doubt that on a brand new dryer.

A gas dryer is not as quiet as an electric one would be. You will hear the roar of the gas flame. Every gas dryer I have had here in Mass has a roar to the flame. My Electrolux dryer burner is noticeable when the dryer calls for heat. You have to remember that with the LG dryer it pulls close to 220 cfms thru the drum...it’s like if you blow on a flame on a gas stove you will get a roar sound. Same with a gas dryer,...

The other thing before someone tells me that maybe the burner is not adjusted right...the flame is blue with rarely any yellow flame tips...

I think the problem is fixed

Googled John’s hint. Turns out there was too much yellow and had to adjust the gas valve. I can still hear it. But not roaring loudly anymore- just soft:

Thanks guys for the tips!

lg gas

I've never tried an lg gas dryer before, just their electric models. I imagine they'd dry faster, and even if I had the exhaust tube disconnected, I'd imagine hearing a loud rush of air, even in addition to a flame. But then again, I could be wrong. I've had good luck with their electric dryers.

lg gas???

We'll probably regret wondering this, but is electricity that much cheaper in TX, or is natural gas harder to access where you live?

Until the heat pump dryers are perfected, believe we will stick to gas.
