Hi Kevin,
Thank you for posting that link.
I would have to say that article on MSNBC blows the "liberal media" talk we here so much about these days. After all this article you posted the link to would be considered pro Bush, wouldn't it?

NPR and the BBC are my new sources, since I do not watch TV. Will keep an ear open for any news on this subject. I do have to say, that no proof of a link between Bush and the fuel price changes is needed for many people. That would include many republicans I have spoken with lately, and most liberals, including myself.

Under $2 a gallon

Newscast story tonight reported gas under $2 a gallon in Panama Oklahoma. I did not catch the exact cost. A guy was interviewed, he was filling up ALL his gas cans available. HE runs a lawnmowing service.

Differs depending on what part of the city/suburbs you'r

In the West suburbs, there were dueling stations the other day. I believe it was a Wawa, and an Exxon, on opposite sides of the street. Wawa dropped all the way down to $1.97, Exxon stopped at $2.05. I've been filling up at BJ's, latest price there was $2.37, if I recall correctly. Problem is BJ's gas makes my "check engine" light come on. Don't know what that is all about. I suspect the ethanol content may be higher. Doesn't make the car run any differently though, and 3 days into the tank, the light goes off. A fill up anywhere else hasn't ever made the light come on. *shrug*

Still hanging around $2.70 in my neighborhood but could be as much as $.20 cheaper across town from me. Interesting to see the midwest prices as I had a cousin from Chicago visiting a couple of weeks ago and she remarked that our prices were lower here in California, and that was before the current drop in prices was in full swing.

No question in my mind that what has been stated here about the oil companies and commodities marketeers manipulating things to make sure republicans maintain power is absolutely correct. Bush isn't behind this. He doesn't have to be. His cronies are on it. But my faith in the American electorate to see through this is non existent. They were stupid enough to elect Bush twice, after all.

Ralph
