GE 240v Dryer

I have this very dryer, looks like the matching WCI portable gave up the ghost, that Kenmore must be a you know what to load and unload though. I think it's a nice little dryer, the drum is surprisingly big inside, and it seems to dry pretty well. Unlike the model before it, this machine has a 4" vent like a normal dryer and has a 120v receptacle on the back for the matching washer to plug into, needing only 1 240v outlet to power the whole rig.

GE Dryer

This dryer is actually a GE design, the internal drum is just a miniature GE drum. I *think* all of the GE dryers, with the exception of the Whirlpool built one later on, were made by GE. The Franklin dryers had a slanted top-front edge on them with the controls mounted at a 45* angle.

There are a number of these little dryers for sale in Nova Scotia. I found a couple of these at a buy & sell I frequent, they are pretty spacious, and some of them are feature packed with normal, perma press, delicate, and air fluff cycles. I'm not too sure how I feel about it being hung from the ceiling. But never the less it gives you a stack feel. I think the matching washer of this is made by Sanyo or Hitachi or one of the Pacific rim manufacturers, and have the wash plate. DADoES has one I believe.

Tim is right, the Franklin designs were slant fronts like the Maytag Atlantis line-up. Here is the Franklin designed machine in Viking clothing.
