Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Had one for many years at the time it was one of the best performers.  Lots of options and neat features.

That said, performance wise my current KA cleans rings around all the DW's I've owned.

The electronics can be dodgy as they age but if it’s barely been used I’d say it would be worth it. My Potscrubber has the same racking and Wash system and is excellent.

I have the Canadian version of this machine. As others have said, the electronics can be spotty. The motor in mine has caused some dodgy things on the circuit boards which I plan on messing with at some point in my life. Right now its sitting underneath my stairs.

Most important thing to do if you have one of these that you want to actually use his to replace the motor with the new high-efficiency motor. Otherwise the draw from the old black motor tends to ruin the boards.

If you wanted to keep the original motor and all the inherent noise and heat output, put a relay on it so that you don’t damage the circuitboard.

I have seen many of the GSD 2800 and the similar 25, 2600 models burn up the boards on the motor contacts.

We had one in the last half of the 80's. It was one of the best dishwashers we've owned, along with our non-reverse rack Maytag in the 90's.
