Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Jeff:

I'm thinking that those differences are from one year to the next - say, 1965 vs. 1966, or similar. GE's trim differences were from model to model, and those two ovens seem to have the same equipment, meaning they were not different models.

I was wondering if some of the trim differences were based on the color of the stove... but your thought of them being a year apart sounds more likely.

Sandy/Jeff/Tom: just reading your comments and great looking stacked GE's, I was wondering ….on the yellow stacked unit, there's a cluster of buttons(for cooktop) and there's none for the turquoise unit. I've never seen those controls on top of an oven for burners! How would that be a good selling point versus having the buttons nearer the cooktop in front, on wall if that's what they were still offering, or on top of the burner clusters?

If you haven't seen these before Sandy, imagine what else is out there, to be discovered. :-)

The photo of the yellow wall oven is showing a range hood sitting on top of the wall oven.  Two completely separate items.

Note the plug-in connector on top of the range hood, for connecting to the surface unit.  I've always loved this setup.

Lawrence is right... most cooktops had the controls either on the cooktop, or on a panel that was mounted on the wall or cabinet, but this is my favorite, and most difficult to find, with the controls in the range hood. And this one even has among those controls the sensi-temp control for the right front burner!

Reply #94 TOL GE Dishwasher never used

In Virginia, not too far from Beltsville.  John, how about that for the museum? I think this model is a POD sometimes.
