This is my first time posting here, so I apologize if I posted in the wrong section...

Does anyone know where I can find a fabric softener dispenser for a GE filter-flo? I'm getting an early 80s model that's got everything BUT the dispenser. I don't wanna have to resort to the Downy ball if I don't have to. Does anyone know what I should be looking for or of a place that might have one?

Eric -

The first thing I would do if in your situation is to get the GE part number for the dispenser. If the dispenser was included with your machine when new, any parts supplier (or even the GE toll-free phone number I think) will be able to tell you the dispenser's part number.

Once you have that, you'll be able to search parts sites online, or at your parts dealer, etc. Also check ebay and the local used appliance places, as they tend to tuck this sort of thing away for future use and may be willing to let you buy a used one cheap.

Eric, welcome!!! Another Texas member and the Hill Country isn't TOO far away from me here in Central Texas. Saw your Fridgemore video with the Foca. I have a Fridgemore, but I think I tried some Foca in it and it suds up toomuch. I know from personal experience water in the Hill Country can be quite hard. Bob

I enjoyed the videos of your vacuum cleaner tests. It was interesting on how well older vacuums do against modern vacuums.

Well this house is so small that collecting more than 1-2 washers is out of the question (although I'd like to) so vacuum collecting fills the void! There's so many misconceptions about older machines (laundry equipment included) that it's neat to actually show something like that and have people argue about the outcomes. Plus I like to play with my collection of junk!

To those who are checking for dispensers, I really appreciate it! I'd be more than willing to pay you if you find one. I would like to use the FF as the main washer (mainly due to the amount of towels and blankets from the puppy) and the idea of the downy ball isn't something I'm too keen on.
