I just purchased an older model filter flo Washer. When I turn the knob for the water to fill up, the water starts to leak through the bottom very bad. Can someone please share what the issue may be?

first thing I would do is open the back.....
check for where the water is coming from like hoses or pump.....
if its coming from around the transmission, then your looking at the tub to transmission boot needing replaced....

Thanks so much!!! I have a GE repairman coming to check it out.
my mother's '82 did that....it was fine while washing one day...and suddenly it wasn't...and the water was all over the floor! It was the boot.

These are great workhorse machines, but if you moved it on its side or back or front without securing the agitator, then you pulled the boot off. I learned the hard way.

Also possible the outer tub is rusted.

Is the boot a hard fix?
If the tub bolts come out OK, it's a pretty straight forward fix.

EASY...
Thake the top off,the agitator pulls straight off,three bolts to remove the tub, then you can see the boot, I'm not much of a washer mechanic, but even I can fix these!
