OK guys, for those of you who haven't experienced the Harmony, I made a few clips of it in action. I've heard some negative comments made about the machine, but honestly, it's a very GOOD machine. I've had it 3 years next month with NO problems, and it does a nice job washing and rinsing. Thanks to Robert for instructing me on how to Re-program it to FILL-UP to the top with water EVERYTIME, and thanks to Gansky1 for telling me about the magnetic lid switch. So here we go.

i got to see the intro and the wash video but thats about it...the rest were no longer available. Nice just the same

They're still available, just try again. Youtube has been acting strange today. That happened to me earlier, but they're still on! After the "intro", click onto "Other Commodorejon Videos", and they should come up. If not. let me know.

Thanks for the videos!
So are you saying that if it does not fill up to the top with every wash and rinse, it is not that good of a machine?
Why would you need it to "fill up" on every load, away from what it was designed to do to be a energy efficient machine?
Curious.

Brent, I really only use that machine for full-loads-I have smaller machines for others, but my experience with it has been that it will tangle things if there's not enough water. It DOES use considerably more water than the FISHER/PAYKEL-WHIRLPOOL models (Aquasmart/Cabrio/Oasis/Bravos), but not enough for my liking. I suppose as far as quality goes, it's a GOOD machine either way! At least it has been for me.

Thank you, but...

Fantastic, Jon, I was looking for Harmony vids all the time, there were only those small 2 older ones, but that was it.
Thanks for posting a complete cycle in such a good quality, great!

But I wonder how the regular (factory installed) cycles look like. How does the machine get the upper (yet dryer) clothes down to the "wet zone" on low water level fills? Apparently the impeller on the bottom needs the clothes to be floating in water to swirl them around, other than the wash disc in Cabrio/Bravo, where the clothes are rather scrubbed and pushed up in the middle and will then be sagging down the sides of the basket.
Of course, I do not doubt cleaning ability of top water level fills on ANY machine, but how exactly does the Harmony manage low level water with a full load of clothes? Can the motor handle a full load of clothes at let's say 1/3 fill of water? How does the redistribution work?

Joe (Whirlpolf), The machine has a "variable speed" motor. It adjust both the water-level and the wash speed by measuring the torque placed on the motor by the weight of the clothes. It does a couple of quick "thrusts" at the start of the cycle before any water enters the tub, and then again a couple of times as the machine is filling. As far as amount of water, it fills just alittle above the clothes "line" and DOES manage to turn them over (especially on the VIGOROUS CYCLE), BUT I think it tends to tangle them more. I believe the higher water-level does a better job RINSING for sure, as soaps tend to make me break-out in hives and itch if the clothes are not thoroughly rinsed clean. I also don't use fabric softener for that reason. And the HYPO-allergenic soaps have no scent!

Andrew, it really IS a quiet machine--the video recorder actually magnified the sound, so it sounded louder on the video than it really is. And John, I'm amazed myself that it usually spins so smooth, especially because the concrete floor under the machine is all broken-up and uneven. The wash-tub is "suspended" on struts, so that keeps the machine balanced and usually (not always) spinning smoothly. It wasn't really a FULL load for the video--there was only 3 pairs of jeans and about 5 or 6 T-shirts in the machine. That probably made a difference also. It sounds like a jet engine during spin!
