Probably the side-winder motor, need a wash-arm picture or model# to be sure, the side-winder pumps cleaned much better and are much easier to keep running today.

it looks just like

the 3 mobile maids i have up and running right now, identical hinges, tops, and cord reel intake holes on the back. i would guess this machine is the older vertical motor and pump style which is my favorite! only problem i have yet to find a replacement part anywhere! luckily with a little tender loving care they will run for years and years, none of mine leak (yet).
