GE Parto-Cart

Jon actually I already have TWO of these, Jeff M. spotted this one a few weeks ago and I briefly thought about having three, LOL.

These work great, and were a very well though out designed and built appliance, I highly recommend someone buy it, and if you get it Jon then you could join the GE Parto-Cart club also.

I would venture to guess that MOST all patios don't have 220 volt electrical service.

Unless there is an electrically heated hot tub nearby.

Maybe a propane powered fuel cell?

hubby would have a cow

Now, never let that stop you. ;-) Think of how immensely practical this is! And finally, an umbrella stand that has the heft to avoid tip-overs, because it's got a range, grill, and aft section of a '67 Buick to anchor it!

I assume GE sold a small nuclear reactor for these that clipped on the side for maximum portability. The "CarryActor"?

220v Service

If anyone is interested I have a few lengths of 4 conductor portable power cord (SO or SJ don't remember the jacket). This would make the PERFECT extension cord for one of these.

I think most of the lengths are 75 foot. I believe I have 10, 8 and maybe 6ga runs. I know I sold my roll of 4ga 4 conductor cable.

All remnants from a previous life as a lighting tech. One time I remember getting that 4 gauge run hot running about 20kw of lights on it!

GE Parto-Cart

Jerry you should get this, the Parto-Cart already has a 50' cord on it that plugs into your electric clothes dryer outlet, and as my brother Phil said it is easy to make an extension cord if you need a little more length.

These actually operate on standard 240-120 or 208-120 volt power supply, to my knowledge there is no such thing as 220 volt power in the US any longer.

Looooong cord

I wondered how they surmounted the issue of the 240V power on a porch/deck not being common, even back in the era of Living Better Electrically. What a cool approach!
