GE Profile front loader made by Electrolux(FriGEMore)

Today,I was off work and went bicycling around to different dealers and during my "pettling",I saw a brand new out of the box wpxh240aww GE Profile front loading washer that had no price on it.I noticed it had a few dings on the left side and the top was a little off center.I know Mick,the owner of "Sonny's Appliance and asked what he was selling it for since I wanted to replace my old Sears Kenmore front loader who's center shaft has become dissmembered and makes the spinning program sound like a thrashing machine in the shed.HE GAVE IT TO ME FREE!!!!He had to take the model and serial number tag off to get credit from GE for it as an RTV which is usualy destroyed.I brought it home. I rode up to work and my co-workr Mike Duffy has a Jeep.During his lunch break,we took the washer to my home and I fed him lunch and sent him on his way while I stayed here to have some fun.After removing the shipping bolts and leveling it,I set it up and it works perfectly!!!!I used my rubber mallet to get out the dents and realined the top.I already have the risers so I imediately removed the adjustable feet and mounted the washer onto the risers.Ain't life just grand!!

I bet you will think about it everytime you use that machine!
I really like the way the GE model looks like. Even though you know who it is built by, it has that GE style somewhat.

The new models tumble and fill only during the beginning of the long "normal"cycle and only during the first five minutes.If you set the program for any shorter time,it fills without tumbling during that phase.IT SPINS SO FAST!!!!I thought the Kenmore was doing a good job but it must have been the last of the 850 rpm models.This one goes a full 950 rpms and is so much quieter than my Kenmore was (of course any front loader that had a bad spin shaft would sound that bad)and its quick cycle is about 22 minutes with a wash and 2 full rinses.It still brings back fond memories as I watch this machine work of the old Westinghouse Laundromat washers as well as the old front loading Bendix.More so the Bendix than the Westinghouse though.I did already have the risers to raise the washer about 17 inches higher.It really makes a difference.
