Has anyone noticed the TV ads for the countertop GE appliances, they are all black or silver/gray in the television spot. All are touted at UNDER $40.00. IIRC GE sold the "small" appliance division to Black&Decker, years ago. I am guessing this is another great old american brand name slapped on some Chinese goods. Looks like B&D would of taken them to task over this. GE has deep pockets. alr2903

They don't look half bad in the Walmart online catalog (where I was looking for Haier fugly toaster). Of course up close and personal they might be assembled like the Yugo.

They actually seem to be pretty well made, and they do look nice. The food processor ain't no Cuisinart, weighs less than half what my Cuisinart 14 cup does, but they look half way sturdy. They are only at WalMart, and yes, they are made in China.

You'll Love The Hand Mixer :)

Hi Everyone,My name is Dave I finally just joined your Awesome website yesterday after reading & enjoying the very informative discussion threads for sometime now.I have seen the Walmart TV ads for the GE brand small appliances for sometime & I needed a new hand mixer (my 5 year old Hamilton Beach was finished just die on me!).So anyways I went into Walmart in Canada (where I live) about 3 weeks ago to have a look at the GE LED 5 speed hand mixer & the rest of the product line.I must say I am so Happy with my purchase of the hand mixer! This mixer is so powerful 300 watts with slow start mixing feature,l luv this feature does not throw flour everywhere when add your dry ingredients plus it does not splash liquids too.All the mixing accessories you get with the mixer are Great,a pair of turbo whisk style beaters ( so easy to clean no center posts ),a pair of dough hooks & a whisk for egg whites, etc.also a detachable cord, complete with a storage case!Boy since I purchased this mixer I have really put it through it's paces, this thing can handle up to 6 cups of flour in recipe no problem,no bogging down on the motor!I have made bread & pizza dough so effortlessly!I also completed all of my Christmas baking too! I have an Old Dormeyer SM-12 CH Power Chef stand mixer which I just luv but I find myself grabbing my new GE more often because it glides around the bowl so easy & powerfully plus so mixer is lightweight & user friendly! I also really like the fact that it does not tip over because of the wide bottom base even with fully loaded beaters when standing up on its end when adding ingredients or removed the beaters!Well anyways I highly recommend this hand mixer if you are looking for a new one! This hand mixer completely blows my old one away. With a 2 year warranty how can you go wrong just keep your sales receipt & Walmart will exchange it for new one if something should go wrong!Have a look at the stock photo I just luv the styling of it,so fresh & innovative! I am now considering purchasing the 12 cup matching coffeemaker,Thanks

I wonder who the manufacturer is??

The small appliance division of GE appliances was dropped years ago by the electrical giant. I wonder who their license was given to??? I just received a great mixer they made back in the 50's with three beaters and a light. This boy is verty strong and beats better than my KitchenAid.

Hi Gary,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome,I am so happy to have finally joined the group.Yes I was a member of the vacuum club but found it just was not for me,I felt I really did not have much to contribute to the discussion threads.

Thanks again,
Dave

Hi laundromat,

Do not quote me on this,it's just a guess but I am guessing the company that makes the Walmart GE small appliance line might be Breville Australia?

Have a look at the product page above of the mixers they look identical to the ones that Walmart GE was selling just a few years ago,but then I could be wrong like I said it's just a guess? The mixer pic below looks just like the one GE had out in Walmart when the Kitchen-Aid craze was going on not to long ago?Wow that is great that are lucky to own an old GE three beater mixer,I have seen them on ebay I think they are so Cool! The vertical motor looks built for heavy duty mixing & with three beaters working for you it must mix really fast & powerfully!I had an older model Powermaster 12 speed GE Stand mixer from the 1970's man that thing lasted a longtime before it finally bit the dust.

Dave
