GE SPOTSCRUBBER IN FLORIDA

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Super Deeeluxe

This is nice, at least the model is. This is the TOL absolute cream of the crop GE SpotScrubber. I have the 8500, just 1 model under this. In ways I think the lower version is more flexible, but this is no slouch in shiny buttons. I think the extra rinse cycle is funny though, becasue if you run the SS cycle on the timer, it has 2 rinses in it. I use this for my towels on mine, you can run that cycle with a full amount of water, it's handy.

I hope someone in FL does grab this, even if the machine is rusty and crusty, the electronics that make it a "SpotScrubber" are easily transferred to a more mechanically sound machine.

But it actually looks like its really clean!

I wish I could grab it because I think next to my Dispensall, this was the last true Bells and Whistles GE Filter Flo before they started going downhill...

Not Just a Minibasket

The Spot Scrubber basket is unique to the machine as it is a solid tub basket. They are identified by their color, but the SS mode of the washer cuts the FF circulation off and the solid basket mini-basket holds the water. Not so great in sediment removal, but for the purpose (a bit gimmicky) at hand, pretty cool nonetheless.

I wouldn't want one of these baskets in a normal FF though for that reason. I have both for my SS machine. I picked up a rough looking one at the Goodwill just for nasty stuff like grease rags and stuff. It was in a box labelled "Ice Cream Maker" hmmm...

Yuck

The funny thing is, even if it WAS an ice cream apparatus, which it's NOT, who would eat out of that thing. It had been used much like I use it, to clean nasty, oily things that stained the white plastic.

Perfect find for me.
