I'm not a fan of GE laundry products, but if you're dead set on getting a stacked combo with a top-loading washer, this one is probably OK. Reliability for GE top-loaders (according to Consumer Reports) is middling.

Be sure the water level selector lets you choose how much water you want in the tub (as well as the advertised "Auto-Load Sensing" setting, which almost always opts for too little water, in my opinion. Here's what the load size control should look like.

Frankly, you'll get far better quality purchasing a front-loading LG model WM2250 washer and matching dryer. They can be stacked, and are priced around $700 for each. Reliability has been excellent (again, according to CR), and you'll get a larger dryer drum (7.2 cu. ft. as compared to the GE's 5.9). The washer and dryer get very good scores from CR.

But that's up to you. Good luck with whatever you decide to purchase!

My daughter and son on law had one in their townhouse and it was not the 220v unit and the small loads it washed took hours to dry especially towels and jeans. I never really investigated them much but hopefully they would come in a 220 version. I myself would prefer a stacked frontloader set.
