Hello everybody. What can you tell me about the GE washer gear oil? How heavy is the gear oil? I noticed as I observed the drive system setup that the gear oil was a heavy duty type oil. I could be wrong. Please correct me. I noticed that the transmissions seem to be durable, as far as my GE washer is concerned. The belt seems to be built to industrial grade standards too. 15 years old and it hasn't skipped a beat nor deteriorated. How tough are the GE washer motors? Mine seems to be heavy duty quality. Please answer my questions. I'd like to know. Thank you.

I use my blend>>

Hello,

I will probably get flamed,
but I have been using 15W-90 Shell gear oil...with 1 quart of Marvel Mystery Oil.
>>Edited: Wrong...Shell Donax 80W-90...I use 15W-40 Oil...Gettin' Old<<

Long History of Marvel and in the tranny biz...some great stuff before friction modifiers became so prevalent in Dexron III.

I put the marvel into a 1 gallon jug, top off with the 80W-90.

Only used in the tranny's (washers) that I work on...Whirlpool, Kenmore, GE, Frigidaire, and Maytag.

Although I know it won't hurt it, let some others tell what they use.

Hope this Helps,
