GE Washer WA-1250Y Service Manual

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

So, Y is not 1960 for GE but instead is 1964, nor is was the 1250 a 1960 model (the 1050 was TOL, for '60).

But - here is the 1960 service manual: https://automatice.org/store/1960-general-electric-automatic-washer-service-manual.950/

And, here is the comprehensive 1961-1973 GE Automatic Service Manual, which would cover the 1964 models, and the 1250. https://automatice.org/store/1961-1...tic-washer-technical-and-service-manual.1700/

Alright, so it seems like the the WA1250 is in the 1961-1973 service manual. Is there a listing or table for this manual? Just not seeing one in the description is all.

Yes - the 1964 Y, 1965 A, 1966 B 1250 models would be covered within the 1961-1973 manual. Starting after 1961 model year, GE revised their laundry service literature from single year service manual editions to a digest method, and changed the format over to a technical manual rather than a full blown service manual. The technical manual will cover all the common and year/model specific items, from a service perspective, as well as any wiring diagram or cycle revisions. However, what you won't find is a full blown table that details the features of each model that was made. For that, you'd need sales and marketing literature.

Also, the 1250 was the TOL model distinction for 1964-1966 (with the panel changing with the full line update in '67). The letter trailing indicates the year. So when you say 1250Y, that is specific to the 1964 year.

The '73 manual covers US P series machines (1973-1976) and V series machines (1977 thru 1979). I don't believe either machine is covered in that manual (the first video may be a Canadian model?).

WWC6700PA is a US model, at least it should be. The video indicates 1975.

The latter model is listed as 1988, which I can't find a service manual of that date in Ephemera.

(forgive the bold wording, post bug)

Where are you seeing that a WWC6700P is a US model? The following is a screenshot from a 1986 GE Washer/Dryer publication that covers all of the US model number sequences, with this format starting in 1973.

C isn't listed - which is where I was wondering if the C was trying to indicate that it was Canadian and wouldn't be listed in the US literature. Besides, the model designation of 6700 isn't listed in either the 1973-1977 technical manual, nor the 1973-1980 parts catalogs.

Ben, the letter C indicates that it is a commercial model, as the washer itself, and the manual shown in the video, indicate it as such.

Lucky customer! That might explain the lack of water level control although I know some very BOL residential GE models did not have any water level control.

GE seems to have made every combination of speed, temps, water level and cycles imaginable.
