The original vet she used to go to and I had a major blowup after a $1400 bill to pull one tooth and she got very sick because they neglected to give her antibiotics. This place I went to on Thursday is new and closeby and she had never been there, but was very excited to ride in the car, something she always loved. Aparently the vet went home very sick on Wednesday and I was sort of grateful to have 1 more day with her. But I do have to say they were very kind and compasionate and I would not hesitate to go back there again.

That's what counts in the end, how comfortable are you with the vet?
$1400 for one tooth and no antibiotics, that's more than outrageous!
I asked my vet one time how she sets her prices. Her answer "We charge what the market will bear". For instance her annual examination & shots fee is $149.00. But if she was in central Houston near a very rich area she said those vets down there get $180-$220 per examination. She said the people up here in north Houston won't pay that.
At one time I wanted be be a vet. In fact my first year of college was pre-veterinary medicine. I'm glad flying got in the way. If I came across some of the customers my vet has I'd smack them into "two tomorrows".
