I am trying to determine the year of manufacture and the model name of this range. Model # J300R or J301R.

It appears to be a lower end model with no clock or timer.

Its a soft yellow color but I don't know the name.

I've done a bit of poking around online but haven't located anything other than photos of other ranges in the same color from the mid 50s into the 60s.

Just purchased for $50 and seems to be in decent condition.

Any info would be appreciated.

My guess would be that this one is a 1958 model, based on the 'R' in the model number. It can't be any older than 1957 as that was when GE introduced their 'Straight Line Styling'. It can't be any newer than 1961 as in 1962 GE changed from the oven knobs on this range to another design. The name of the color is 'Canary Yellow'.

When I was 14, my parents moved to a new home which had a 50s/60s Caloric electric range. - pushbutton burner temp levels, analog clock/timer, lighted backsplash, etc.
Mom used it up to around 1975 when it broke down, and replaced with a Magic Chef range.

Several years ago, one of my friends lived in an apartment that was built in the late 1950s. The range was exactly like this, except his was Petal Pink, as were the sink and steel cabinets. He told me the other units in the building had either Turquoise Green, Canary Yellow, or Petal Pink kitchens. His refrigerator was white, as it was newer.
