Now that things have come into perspective, I want to let the site know of some developments this week involving Rich, aka, Perc-o-Prince.

Nearly two weeks ago, Rich went into the emergency room with some lower abdominal pain. After several hours of testing, the hospital and the doctors were trying to rule out diverticulosis, kidney stones, or appendicitis. The ER doctor came back to Rich after all tests were completed, including a CT Scan, put his arm on his shoulder and let him know that they were suspecting lymphoma.

After additional testing, Rich was scheduled for surgery this past Monday for removal of his right testicle. All went well, and it was confirmed yesterday that he has seminoma and not lymphoma.

Right now, the prognosis is excellent; and after a series of radiation and/or chemo treatments (because his cancer has spread to the lymphnodes), a full recovery is expected.

I'm sure you all join with me in wishing Rich a speedy recovery. He has researched all the possibilities, and his outlook is excellent, with doctors informing him that the cure rate is 99.5 percent.

As an aside, Tim Shawn and I visited with both he and Chuck today and had a great afternoon together and a delicious dinner.

Ron

Wishing you a swift and complete recovery, Rich!

Looking back, I recall Chuck mentioning in posts spanning a couple of weeks that Rich hadn't been feeling well.

Please know that your AW.ORG family is sending out all the positive energy we can to both of you.

Thank-you Ron for letting us know. Rich, take good care of yourself and let Chuck pamper you! Please know that all of my best thoughts are there with you. Terry

Rich, I wish you the very best in your recovery and know that you and Chuck are in my thoughts. Scott

oh stop snickering!

Guys:

See YouTube for some GENERAL medical thoughts--
Search for things such as:

Testicular Cancer Self Exam
Live Testicular Examination from www.thefamilygp.com
(The pervy old troll of a doctor doesn't even use a glove!)

And for the other gender:
Live Breast Examination - How to check your breasts.

All the best to all, my dears.

Take Care of yourself~

Oh my goodness Rich! I am sorry to hear this. I will definately keep you in my thoughts and continue to send good wishes your way.
9 years ago my cousin, only 24 at the time was diagnosed with Testicular Seminoma. After surgery and treatment, today he is healthy and cured and recently became a new father . Stay positive and remember you have your extended family here at AW to support you. Your Grandfather is also looking out for you, this I am certain.

Godspeed to full health

Best thoughts and kind wishes for a speedy recovery. You're made of iron, and you'll be fine.

Gotta love you guys, Rich and Chuck. In the midst of it all, you're still having, "a delicious dinner !!!!!" If that doesn't reveal the very best prognosis, I don't know what does!

May God bless.

Re: Rich, "Perc-o-Prince"

Hi! Rich, I wish you a speedy recovery and hope that you are getting along real well now. I'm also sorry to hear about Chuck's Passing of his Father {see other thread posting} with my Condolences to you as well.

Please feel free to contact me as well as anyone else, if you might feel the need of talking to someone further, or want some info about Bereavement/Grieving sent to you. Since as noted I've been a CO-Leader for a little over 1-year now, besides my attending a local Bereavement Group, not only for my own Losses, but to be there for others as well, I try to do my best to help others out.

Peace, Blessings, Prayers and Hugs, Steve

Hi all!!!

I want to thank everyone for your good wishes and thoughts!

I am feeling well at this time but I understand that the treatment may be brutal with radiation for this cancer making a person very sick (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fatigue). So far it looks like just radiation but there is a slight chance that I will have to go through some chemo as well.

I will keep you all posted on the progress.

Love and hugs to all of you!!! :-)

Rich

Rich and Chuck

All the best! A friend of mine recently had to decide "only radiation" or "the works". She took the time to talk to several competent physicians, didn't listen to all the nonsense people spout and, two years later is just fine. In her case, everything including chemo was the way to go. Do what it takes and be well.
