simply went in to purchase an ordinary fan. Customer service was horrific, and offensive, to say the least. When asked to speak to the manager, he sent an hourly worker to me, and asked what the problem was. I simply wanted to show the store manager what exactly it looked like through the customers eyes- poor disconnected associates carrying ipads to check out customers; huh- tried to get one to ring me out, to no avail. provoking associates that just didnt seem to care- associates taking their breaks in the patio department, sitting under the canopies, complaining how long they had to work till that night..
Called customer service corporate. they took my information. still waiting almost two weeks for a response.. so sad.. they apparently dont care.. Ive decided to put it behind me. heres my letter back to corporate..
hello,
I am writing back to you in reference to the situation i had in your sears, yonkers, ny store.
Unfortunately, today, 7/8, i have still not heard from your district manager, or any other representative from the corporate office. ( i will say she did leave me a message on 7/4, stating she would call me back. I returned her call at 8:30 am on 7/5 with my name and number. not a call back.)
I am amazed that as a customer, no one really seems to concern themselves with us, the "little people" the consumers, that patronize your stores.
Thinking back, over something as ridiculous as simply wanting to purchase a fan, a lousy fan, which should be a simple transaction, turned into such a degrading experience for me, and then wanting to share that experience with you; i thought someone would like to know- perhaps be a bit more conscious of what good customer service really means?? Does Sears really care? my perception is absolutely not..
Therefore, i will assure you, no more shopping at Sears. In addition, being president of my condominium, i am sure to get this experience out to my fellow neighbors, and ask them to pass this situation along..
I will Blog, tweet, linked in, any other public way i can get my experience out to my peers; my fellow consumers, on how I was serviced , and followed up with regarding my experience..
Westchester county, is an affluent county-certainly not a place where we have to compromise being treated with dignity, and respect..
We have many choices
With fond memories of how it used to be
