Just update for you guys and gals, up at 6am drove 40 miles to get this gem. Set in parking lot for a bit waiting for 8 am to call Joe. Super nice guy. Was an appliance dealer in Texas for 35 yrs. A Maytag dealer. That's how he acquired the Washer, they gave it to him to show. It has never had water in it......

here's a few pictures I took. I got a bonus of a new/old box of Tide with manuals that were closed up in the back of the machine.......I'm happy as a new puppy whos owners just came hom walking around peeeeing everywhere.

You have an amazing machine that should last you a long long long long time. I hope you can find the matching dryer or at least one that is close to matching it. I know there are still some around. This one speed washer will work quite well for most everything you have to wash. If you are like myself, you don't have anything that requires extremely delicate treatment. You have one of the best washing machines EVER made! Congratulations!!!!!

I would really like to get the electric and water turned on so I could throw a few things in just to watch it work. Joe really hated to part with it but his wife wanted to get the room started........He had a mint condition frig with the cooling on top too. Told him if he ever wanted to get rid of that to call I would come get that too......

Many of the older BOL Maytag washers like this one had black tubs with white speckles. I think back then it was either white tub or this one.

Here's my question about this old machine. It has been sitting for awhile unused. What will I need to do to insure it to work properly and not break something just plugging it up and turning it on.Things get quirky when not used for periods of time.

for starters, I would boil a few large pans of water and pour into the machine and let set for a while.....check for any leaks....

when I got my 806, it was sitting unused for the greater part of 12 years, upon first fill, water dribbled from the center post......

JohnL offered the boiling water idea.....it softened everything up and re-sealed, been working fine ever since....

check clamps for any rusting, replace if needed......

motor glides may not need replaced, but the lube may be dried out....

always curious of this machine, having time fill, yet is not a solid tub, how do you match the fill to the time without overflowing the machine?

don't know about the fill thing, but I will try to find out. I'm thinking it has a mechanical float of sorts along lines of toilet bowl but it trips a relay to shut off water or pump........I will lookIt can all be worked on from the back. A heavy machine too......

yep it's all metal for sure. I hopefully will find a dryer for this gem before too long. Are there tech manuals for this somewhere........

No, this is a timed fill and doesn't have any kind of float or metered fill. On the dial it shows F for full, 3/4 and 1/2 fills. The timer does it all.
