This is an early 1950s 40" Roper. It has an oven, full-size broiler, and four burners in a staggered array. My friend gave it to me, the oven doesn't work and three of the four burners don't light. She started to smell gas and decided to buy a new stove even though I offered to fix this one for her. She doesn't cook much and just wants a cheap no-frills model now. This stove has been in her family since it was purchased in 1954. I don't know if it is a '54 year model or older but it has the same oven door handles and burner knobs as my '49 Town & Country. Since this stove is missing one lower handle, I'm going to snag the other to replace the missing one on my T&C. There are some aftermarket handles from the '50s listed on ebay, I'll buy two and replace the missing ones then repair, clean, and sell this Roper.

I Am SO Glad!

When you first showed off that Town and Country, I was worried for you - I figured you were in for one Hell of a search for the missing handle. And there's always the possibility that a missing part may never turn up at all.

I'm glad the Big Girl is going to get to wear all her jewelry again! I'm looking forward to photos wunnatheezdaze.

Way to go!

There's always another part out there. I bought a small Magic Chef stove for it's knobs for my Magic Chef 1000.

40" Roper

I came across this post after attempting to find pieces for my Roper. I am having a heck of a time finding the timer for this particular face plate.

I know this is an old post but I thought I would ask anyways. Do you still have it and if so would you be willing to sell it?

Thanks
