there is nothing I would love to do more, than meet you. And any other member for that fact. I often find it hard making conversation to my friends now as they are just damn boring. I dont have use for talking about page 3 models (I have strong views over respect for women and hate seeing them degrade themselves so freely) or football. And now I have been spoiled by this site being able to talk about what I love best it can be hard to even look interested when im asked about normal blokey things. This hopefully wont sound too sad but I look forward to my visits here more than i look forward to anything else. If i was to go on holiday abroad i just know i would have to find an internet cafe somewhere. Nick

I would like to meet several people here (Jon excluded ’cause I think he’s mad! ;-)). In fact, I really do enjoy meeting people anyway.

We don’t think of ourselves as ‘special’, but Dad’s always called our house an “open house”. I remember years ago (about 1990) us chatting to a market research person who came round to ask us lots of questions on things. In the end, she stayed for about an hour and a half because, by chance, she was having some problems with eczema and he doctors were not very helpful.

By the end of her visit, we had given her several (non-prescription) bath oils and creams (safe for us by anyone), along with details of what she should ask her GP for on prescription.

We weren’t holding her hostage or anything! It was surreal, but it was lovely and completely natural. We’ve had other similar instances of people coming round, and I love it. I’m not so capable these days (here I go again, moaning!), but there are the odd occasions when I can walk into the other room and join in a little chat.

Anyway, I’m just saying that I like having people round. I know some prefer a more quiet life and tend not to have anyone round – our neighbours are like that. However, they do go out, but we don’t/can’t. (Well, Dad does go shooting!)

Anyway, Nick, or anyone else, if you’re around this area – yes, even anyone abroad! – just let me know, and it is quite possible that you could come round. We’ve had eBay buyers come round to collect goods, so I’m sure we could have some people from here round as friends…

… except Jon. He’s mad. LOL

Even though I'm very new here, I just wanted you all to know how much I enjoy reading and posting here....I sense a lot of warmth and kindness from this group, I learn SO MUCH about all these machines I've never come across in real life, and I really have a lot of respect for Unimatic's patience, because he easily could have labelled me a troll and booted my keester out when I mouth off on controversial topics, and didn't, and I'm grateful for that.

I like how members really seem to support and advocate for one another, when one goes through changes.

I've had my chops busted since I was five for "staring at the suds", but the washers always chilled me out and comforted me, and even provided a source of much-needed income (I've used control panels and washer parts in art installations!), and it's nice to see I'm not the only one.

I also really enjoy the music and food segments (I'm actually going to try to make the onion soup tomorrow, and yes, the fire department has been notified...)

Thanks to all. You really do seem like great folks.

When I happened upon this site 4 years ago I was tickled Harvest Gold that there were others with certain obsessions for home appliances. I mean there is nothing wrong with being gay
but liking Home APPLIANCES???? who ever heard of that?

So the site has endured. It's like porn for the appliance aficionado.

Thank you Robert for this wonderful website...Each morning I check picture of the day, then I read all the new postings. It is a great way to start the day. I know that it is alot of work for you each to maintain the website. I thank you for your time and hard work.
