This afternoon I decided it was a good day to make a cake for work tomorrow.
I made my dark, very moist Chocolate cake, peanut butter frosting, and I garnish with chopped mini Reese cups.
I had to make 1.5 times the recipe to get enough cake to fill my big Corning P-76 roaster pan.

It was a great reason to break out a few of my favorite mixers too

Peanut butter frosting?

Whoa, Sam,

this looks delicious! Could you please post the recipe? I must give it a try, what I can see is mouth watering.

Thanks so much.
Joe

I'm sure you're correct, it was a good day to do some baking. I just checked the temp in your area (4:00 PM my time) and it says 25 degrees. Right now it's 86 degrees out...sounds nice but it's actually not. That's way too warm for the first part of February. If we have triple digits in April electric bills will be sky high. We get some relief in June thru September which the power company considers summer months. Please send snow and ice.

That cake looks delicious. I'll bet you'll need to cut small slices so everyone gets some.

Sam, you made 1.5 times the recipe for that roaster.  Did you have to adjust the recipe's baking temp and/or time for it to work out ok?

Beautiful!

Nothing like the combo of peanut butter and chocolate. But all the better with that impressive collection of vintage sweetness. I Love your turquoise model 12 Mixmaster. I have a modest vintage mixer collection and have been trying to get anything in any pastel color for probably 5 years. I just got my turquoise model 12 this Christmas at an antique shop. I love it so much that I am afraid to use it.

Throw in the Radarange, the hand mixer, and the Corningware and you've pretty much got perfect. So when can we all come over for cake? ;)

Thank you so much!

Sam,

I tried the recipe and I felt so sick afterwards (litterally): The cream is so yummy that I could not resist eating 2 portions / cups of it. Which resulted in having too little to spread it on the cake, which resulted in having to make more of it.
A friend who tried the cake (with the cream of course) said: "This is a sin!" (and after a short break, she added: "I am an atheist anyhow!", a smirk, a swift move of the cake shovel and another piece was gone.)

You got us hooked on it :-)
