1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

2. Add sugar, espresso/coffee and cocoa.

3. Bring the mixture up to a rolling boil, then continue boiling for one minute while stirring constantly.

4. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter.

5. Add oatmeal and mix until everything is well-incorporated.

6. Drop by the spoonful on a wax paper-covered cookie sheet and allow to cool — it will set more quickly if you put them in the refrigerator.

Variation

This is a variation of a recipe that we used to have a long time ago. Although, we didn't use coffee in our version. I think we used half a can of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup. But I do think the coffee ones are better ;)

Oh, chokladbullar or cocosbullar! Swedish treats good! Mmmm....

(how funny, just seeing the thread name got me onto thinking about those and lo and behold it's them here!)

I have the IKEA recipe card which has a mistake in it.

So what I'm trying to figure out is if these are the same recipe as the ones in Sweden which get brown sprinkles or if those have a different name?

Variations

I was wondering how many different variations to this recipe are out there. I'd love a version with less sugar in them. Perhaps substituting half the sugar for marshmallows or something similar,

Malcolm
