Guess what's back in service?

GE spinning the last load of the night...around 12:45 AM!

Glenn, thanks again for all your help in getting the Frigidaire washing and installed in its respective place in the Studio, not an easy task. I'm glad you spotted that wear on the oil bellows, and that I took the agitator and bellows assemblies out back when I removed it from service! Luckily I had an additional one on hand right there. Now it's time to tackle your WO-65, which we have been meaning to do for 2 years, LOL! I'm thinking the impact driver will be just the thing for getting the stuck pump screws out. I thought I was never going to get that trip shaft screw to budge but it worked great. So now I'm inspired to get out by W.C. and get working. Perhaps sometime next month?

By the way, I forgot to give you those rags to take home, that got mixed in the play laundry during the wash-in last October. Will remember to bring those next time.

Hi Robert,

Yes the chronic unbalance problem seems to be no more! I did have to redistribute one load, not because it tripped the lever, but because it got a little crazy while it was throwing the water out! I used Mother's mag wheel polish (a mild abrasive) on the pump plate and snubber pad, as well as cleaned the crossbrace. There was still some gunk remaining that I couldn't get off, but all snubber parts are now oil-free. I added a small amount of oil to the tranny after we were done, to compensate for what little was lost.

I'm thinking the impact driver will be just the thing for getting the stuck pump screws out.

Be very careful with that impact driver on that 60 year old pump. Please take a torch and GENTLY heat up the bottom of the motor housing where the screw threads go up into. Otherwise you might break those screws in half, making matters worse.

Now that's what I call a fun weekend. Austin, it seems that that WO-65 is very troublesome, when you are completely sick of it, send it out this way!

I love the idea of the washing shed, or building. Great for those of us in the West with no basement, and/or garage.

When we would have a Unimataic tipped onto its back, John would have me hold it steady at the top while he sat on the floor with his back against another machine. Then he used both feet to push up against the brace and turn it slightly to remove it.

That last shot of Glenn with his million dollar smile and his hands on the Unimatic makes me think of Ernest Aingley having people put their hands of the TV to be Heeeeeeled. I guess Glenn did help with the healing, but it was from the other end.

I'm glad the washer is fixed and that y'all had a good, safe time.
