Happy Birthday Australia!!

We Texans have always had a special love for Australia! Our similar terrain, climates, and hardy pioneer folk make us brothers and sisters!!

I hope that the next 219 years bode well for your country and your countrymen!!

I almost forgot!!!

Now repeat after me fellow Aussies,
Australians all let us rejoice
for we are young and free
We've golden soil and wealth for toil
our home is girt by sea.
Our land abounds in Nature's gifts
of beauty rich and rare
in history's page let every stage
Advance Australia Fair
In joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Australia Fair.
Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
we'll toil with hearts and hands
to make this Commonwealth of ours
renowned of all the lands
for those who've come across the seas
we've boundless plains to share
with courage let us all combine to
Advance Australia Fair
In joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Australia Fair.

Australia is an amazing country....I've never been there, but my biological father comtemplated moving us all there in 1972, and I sometimes marvel at how different my life might have turned out!

I've contributed to commentary on a wide range of issues, written several articles of criticism, etc., and I've gotten an amazing amount of positive feedback, ideas, etc. from my Aussie readers, which I never could have imagined. We share many cultural touchstones and emerging issues and I pray Australia and the U.S. will continue to be great friends for many, many years to come.

Well, OK, add a few years, but I can't resist a picture of a koala dancing with a bald eagle. :)
