He'll have quite a bit of adjustment to do to make the switch from where he lives now...

The hint you all missed is the word, switch......as in

TOGGLESWITCH!!!!!!!!!!!

He is standing here next to me.....jimmyb from phoenix joined us as well....it was a busy day of washing enjoyed by all....we broke bread twice together and all bonded.....stay tuned for pictures and more details......

Thank You!!!

What a great Sunday in Tucson, Started at Nate's palce - the Frigidaire 1-18 brought back memories of the one my mom had. Next stop was Roger's house - the Suds Saver Maytag was a ton of fun. Lunch at Roger's was well enjoyed by all (thanks to Roger and Nate). And last but not least Ross's house - the Westinghouse slant front coin-op laundromat had to be my favorite. Dinner was a success at Ross's with a special meal prepared by the Mystery Guest. We also enjoyed a movie from Ross's collection that was a hoot!

Thanks to Nate, his friends Nate and Melissa, Roger, and Ross for the warm hospitality as well as to Toggleswitch for sharing a ride.

It was a great day and am glad to have been able to meet everyone.

Yes--

Thank you gentlemen for having opened your hearts and your homes and letting us experience your amazing collections. The machines were wonderful! Here is to having bonded with the Tucson, Arizona crowd and to new and stronger friendships!

I saw my first suds-saver (on Roger's Maytag), saw a way-cool Frigidaire 1-18 (Nate's), and experienced Ross' Easy..... washer. Love that coin-op Westinghouse of the slant-front/ engineering persuasion.

Also saw my first swamp-cooler and was fascinated to learn that some in Arizona some have no air-condtioning! The lack of humidity is amazing! Should I mention I broke 105 degrees farenheit for the first time and 100 miles-per-hour in the rental car on the way to Tucson? LOL (The rental car had 70 miles on it when picked up).

So far have seen Phoenix, Scottsdale, passed through Tempe and just this evening made it to Sedona. Must check out those magical energy vortexes!

I am still truly amazed at the common bond we all share and the instant comraderie and affection that ensues.

Love to all
-Toggle

P.S. thanks Jim for joining us on the ride south to Tucson. Alwasys nice to have someone from the area when exporing new ground and new roads! Great meeting you.

P.P.S Let's not say dinner was a success just yet. Have not been reassured that no one had the runs the next day......
LOL ROFL LMAO.

And a special thank-you to Ross for ALLOWING me to comandeer his kitchen!

And NATE:
I shudder..or should I say "SHUTTER" to think of those candid pics you were able to snap.

I am SURE *AHEM* you will be KIND to your new buddy Toggle when you add captions and decide which ones to post.

Right? LOL

Steve And Jim

And thank you Steve for cooking and making a great finale to a fun day. Thank you Jim for coming and being a great addition to the Arizona Contingent. We sure are a fun group. You are all welcome here in Tucson anytime for some washing fun.
Look forward to seeing you both again soon.

Oh you guys!!

I am so jealous!!! It sounds like you had a terrific time! OK Steve....did you whip up some delicious Greek delicacies?
Where are the pics? Are they printable? LOL

nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah

YES the pictures are printable. I even took pics of the appliances in my suites!

Getting on the web is a bit tough because there are two ridculously slow computers for the whole resort.

Anyhooo.. went to get my digital camera's imnages transferred to a disk and have hard-copies made, and my quirky camera "exploded" the place's system.....WHOOOOOPPPPPSSS LOL.

So it looks like all of you may just have to wait 'till Saturday when I get home amd promise you "all that's fit to print" [NY Times' motto] surely will be.

Having a ball.. maxed out a credit card.. Havn't done that since I was twenty-something.

Tomorrow it's a two hour drive north to the Grand Canyon.
(Somehow looking at a huge hole somehow doesn't seem to be all that alluring..but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. LOL)

Venus:

Actually, After a scrumptious lasagne served for lunch at Roger's my idea for Greek Syle lasagne was not gonna work ("Pasticcio"), so I made a lentil soup with some potato and carrot. Stuffed peppers, oven roasted potatoes and cauliflower in a garlicy tomato sauce. As a salad (which most of you would call "cole-slaw"), I shreeded a head of cabbage and added lettuce, tomato and cucumber and some calamata olives. A little oil, lemon and vinegar, and VIOLA, datisfie numerous hungry holes.

We then had a really decadent and rich chocolate birthday cake for my partner, who joined me at 2 of the 3 stops that day. What a good sport!

hugs,
Steve

and I dont have the $ to travel, but the partner does and wanted to travel (what can a say, someone had a coupon! LOL)

JETCONE:

YES-- loved Ross' Westy slant-front commercial coin-op.
Boy did it swish alot -- but hey-- that is nothing new to me.

Loved the really high water level in it too. IIRC it was operating with the door open for a good portion of the wash cycle.

The American southwest is quite interesting-- the BEST climate.
DRY DRY DRY.

The cuisine, however, is not for me except in small doses (hot & spicy in general).

There is supposed to be concern here over water shortages, and lack of water in general. HA! Not one front-load washer ANYWHERE, and the shower in my suite can not be lowered from full force, full-flow. It has one of those annoying --zero to cold to hot dials --with no volume, flow-rate adjustment.

I am not used to no grass paractically anywhere, as an attempt to save water. Most of the plants and shrubs are low-water drought tolerant species. I believe the method of landscaping with limited water is called xero-scaping. (Xero = dry.) Lots of gravel and rocks instead of grass. The ground sprinklers in the resorts and hotels water each plant INDIVIDUALLY and just a few drops at a time. QUITE interesting.

Now who one earth would want to eat Toggle's treats?

Now Steve, you know we would all like to sample some of Toggle's treats!! Glad that you are having a great vacation. Sounds like you had a great day in Tucson. Terry
