HA 806

While doing a small load of white shirts this morning, my 806 went thru the prewash, soak and wash periods. It went thru the first spin(with spray rinse), and filled for the rinse. Then nothing!
Could I have used too much soap and casued the motor to overheat?
When I took off the front panel, the motor was very HOT.
I imagine that when it cools down, it will start again.

What are you thoughts as to why the machine shut down?

Bad lid switch if no fill. Does it fill on the wash setting of the timer?

No fill.
It filled for rinse then completely stopped.
The lid switch was electronically by-passed.

The machine lights up and then no action whatsoever.

Make sure there's no GFI in the loop this plugs into. Check to be sure the wires have not comes apart in the lids switch bypass. Try moving the knob back to wash or another cycle and see what happens. Make sure the load selector isn't double pushed. Try switching to a smaller load size and see if it starts.

if the motor did overheat and shut off due to overload,the belt
could be the wrong type or faulty.

Make sure all of the buttons are pushed in ALL the way. If they are not pushed in all the way the machine will not run.

The little brown piece in the back by the switch has a white piece that goes in and out.....that white piece does not move...Can that be the problem?

If you bypassed the lid switch by joining the 2 wires together, then the lid switch is not the problem. How did you bypass the lid switch?

Does yours have the little buss fuse...that could be blown....

if it was just the motor, it would still fill!...or could one of the wires broke free from the timer or their own terminal?

It's far too old for the fuse.

If the switch was bypassed, does that part above have anything to do with stopping all action? The button stays in and there is no click.

Check the water level switch. Sometimes they will go wonky and cause this problem.

I get absolutely no action at all...no fill even.

The machine filled for the rinse cycle and then completely stopped.

It won't even fill to a higher water level? How was the lid switch bypassed? Did you take the control panel apart and check for any loose wires? Did you check for power at the motor?

How is the switch bypassed? The "white thing" I think you're refering to shuts the machine down if it goes off balance.
