I've got a Haier freezer. It's about 20 years old and the compressor stopped. I put in a new start relay, which didn't immediately start the thing. After I jostled the compressor around (well, I grabbed it and shook it a couple of times!) it started up and worked a few days. Now it has stopped again. Is it worth trying a Supco RCO80 kit for small compressors? Anyone else tried one?

It might not be worth fixing.

When you can get a new one delivered to your home for about $150. Also check Craigslist. I see them used on there all the time for about $50

If it's not the relay

there really isn't anything else one can do. I know the problem you're speaking of and its a result of there being a worn spot on the compressor motor. The only thing you can do is change the compressor and that's costly.
