I hope that everyone has a very happy and safe 4th of July. Dan, your day sounds perfect!!

Happy 4th everyone!

I am heading over to Mike'n'Mikes with the SciFiFriday group for a backyard BBQ, a swim in their new pool and a gander at Massachusetts biggest 4th of July parade with fireworks over beautiful Lake Quannapowitt in downtown Wakefield.

Its nice and quiet here on the deck this morning! Tenants are on holiday, neighbors are gone. Very soothing.

But first a delve into one of my limping Combos, a nasty leak to fix. Fun.

Oh, and I'll be kissing a long nosed dog today!

Happy and Hot

Yea for the 4th of July. It's going to be over 100 here in most of California today.

So we're going to have some Family over and bar-b-que.

Jump in the pool to cool off.

Then off to the Home Depot parking lot to see the fireworks at Cal Expo. (That's where we have our state fair and other exibitions)

ALOHA !

Here's my first Aloha Bundt cake.

I was trying a rhubarb rasberry glaze but decided it looked too much like tomato catsup so I only put it on half the cake.

It's suppose to look like 6 pineapples in a ring. Genuine Nordic Ware cast aluminum pan baked in the 1949 Maytag gas Dutch Oven.

Happy 4th, Everybody.

Shane, there is a reason for the old saying, "life begins at 40" . . . because it's true. Fear not--the best is yet to come.

I say, after arrogantly commuting Libby's sentence it's time (try long overdue) to start impeachment proceedings against both Bush and Cheney. Maybe we can chip away at those 567 days and get this insanity overwith even sooner.

Happy 4th Fireworks...

I'm not easily impressed by pictures, but DCist put together a good slide show of DC's fireworks by the DC flickr group. The pictures are seen from different parts of town and some are really good. =) Just scroll down the page until you see it!

Happy 4th July

I really hope all our American friends here enjoyed and celebrated their 4th July holiday with fun and laughter and with family and friends.
Cheers folks.
Steve.

P.S. One of your warships the U.S.S. Kittyhawk I believe is in town in Sydney, and so I hope the sailors get out and really enjoy themselves while they are down here.
