Happy Maytag Month!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

MAYtag !

Interesting thread, UltraWash (Xavier) !

Gorgeous set, indeed, Sean...
...And that wringer from Launderess, that is just a plain 'wow'!
Beautiful machines in both cases. I notice that even the green
(avocado) color of the wall matches that of the Maytag set.

May, of course, is also the Month of Mary. Peace is one of the
things the world is most in need of right now. Positive vibes.

My own Maytag WM is a small one; in fact, the tiniest washer
ever made by the Maytag Co. - if i'm not wrong. It is, however,
a solidly built appliance... and it weighs like an anvil !
I use it as my 'daily driver'. Cool, fun, vintage little machine.
For the biggger loads, I also use a Maytag (Whirlpool): A large
one, model MAT14PD, located in the laundry room close to my appt.
[i live in a 5-story appartment block where, normally, landlords
discourage the use of personal laundry equipment - but........].

Here's my 1994 Maytag.....

DWU9921AAX.

It still performs flawlessly and has had only one minor repair - the rubber boot on the latch for the detergent door.
The weak spot seems to be the lower rack. I am on the 3rd or 4th one now.
They seem to start rusting away within months of replacement.
The top rack is still the original one and has no signs of rust at all.
I will probably never find another replacement rack so when this one rusts out, that will be the end.
The "normal" cycle always works fine for me.
I save up dishes in the machine for a week before running the cycle.
No pre-rinsing - I just put dirty dishes in and let them sit. I don't even run the "rinse & hold" cycle.
Dishes always come out sparkling clean.
