We had an absolutely beautiful sunset here of the sun disappearing behind the Rockies, unfortunately though with these point and shoot camera's everything in the distance looks even more distant than with the naked eye.. but it's still nice. You can see the grayed outline of the mountains on the horizon. And that's a mist that comings up just beyond my fence from the pond, yes we actually get heavy fogs out here on the prairie, moreso than places along the coast it seems. Especially on days like today when it's warm and sunny then it quickly cools down at sunset

Get Real

I don't see any vacs in that picture. Totally misleading thread topic. You suck Pete. I never liked you!

Hoover dial-a-matic

Appliguy Patrick gave me a Hoover dial-a-matic two weekends ago because he thought it matched my living room. It's orange and beige. Man, I'll tell you, that thing is friggin' heavy. I can barely lift it with my scrawny physique. It's impossible to push because of the weight, but it is self-propelled. Despite that ridiculous weight, I have to say, I do have a lot less cat hair now. I didn't realize it was self-propelled at first and sucked one of my cats right up. He tried to get away and I tried to stop the machine, but the thing was just too damn fast.

A good selection.

And getting a vacuum that matches your living room is the right reason for picking a vacuum. I'm all about assessorizing.

Well lets see it them!! I have an orange fronted one with a tan sort of motor base, but the backside is dark brown. It's not the self propelled model so it's not too bad to push

Never posted a picture of my office before

While you're waiting, he's a picture of my office. I want you to notice two things. One, there is a hot cup of coffee on the desk. I'm drinking that right now. 2, there is no cat.

Hoovers are great

Sorry it took me so long. I had to get a handtruck to wheel it out of my closet and to a place where I could take a nice picture. Obviously, this is not the room it matches. I'm now on the hunt for a green vacuum cleaner for this room.

Mike, what do you call that material or whatever that that lampshade sitting to the right of your monitor is made of. I have a couple of lamps with those shades and never know what to call the shade. Is it fiberglass?

Fiberglass

I've heard that material called various things. The most common is fiberglass. Sometimes people will use the word "parchment" to describe the material.

Gotta run

I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but that shade is actually square rather than round. Actually, it's not even square. What do you call that shape, a parelleligram or something? I graduated last in my class. I gotta run. The bar closes at 9. See ya.

Thanks Frigy

See all those videos in the shelves. I love cult movies and drive-in movies. I want to see something intellectually stimulating, something offbeat and unique, or something with women with big honkers. I'm very particular about that. If it's intellectually stimulating, offbeat, AND has women with big honkers, then I call it a classic.

It was there

No, it was there. But I cleaned up the room quite a bit after you left. I tried to move you out of that room quickly because I was a bit embarassed by how cluttered it was at the time.

Whoops, I guess I missed the video collection because I immediately spotted the pink T.Rex box collection. Is the black/white-striped container the one that has the girl-group collection in it?

As for What Makes A Classic Movie: I take it you're a Russ Meyers fan, then, LOL?

I love the DAM, it looks more red in the picture than orange? Remember to drive them into the closet frontwards then when you have to take it out to use it plug it in first then drive it on out backwards, much easier than lifting.
I've been looking for a parellogram type shade to go with a vintage lamp I bought for my sister, it's a cast bronze horse about 10 inch high standing in front of a tree trunk which is the "pole" for the shade. I found a good "parchment one" in perfect condition but it's round.

Oh and btw Mike: quote
something offbeat and unique, or something with women with big honkers.

Try and be a little more sensitive will you and use more acceptable terminology for them, it sounds so crass. Melons might be a better choice, everyone loves melons. Or jugs, yes jugs are good, people collect vintage jugs.

Keen Eyes

My you have good eyes Mr. Frigilux. Yes, that's the girl group box set I got for Christmas. And the T.Rex box set. The Have A Nice Day box set when I went some cheesy 70s stuff. Brain In A Box box set with sci-fi classics. Zombies, Posies, Velvet Underground, Nuggets, Alice Cooper, and Cheap Trick. The whole top row of the cabinet is my John Waters and John Waters-related collection.

And yes, there is a whole shelf devoted to Russ Meyers which can be seen behind the vac, two shelves up from the radio, directly above my Doris Wishman shelf. I loved Doris and was fortunate to become her friend before she passed away a couple of years ago. What a wonderful lady.

To the few females that come to this site (biologically) I did not mean to offend by calling mammary glands "honkers". It was a term of endearment and I'm now regret referring to your melons in this way. Please accept my apologies.

Another collection

My closets are filled with videos and DVDS among other things.

I loved Veg's vintage hair care collection. I loved Fred's stewardess collection. Browsing through people's amazing collections is my favorite part of this place.

No single heterosexual man should be alone on Friday night and suffer the indignity of not having access to a good old fashioned Women In Prison movie. This will never happen to me.

And mind you, this is only part of the collection.
