Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The Thrill Of It All was on TCM last night and I caught it from just about the very beginning.  There was also a beautiful Frigidaire Kitchen will all appliances in brushed chrome.

Was this a 1959 or 1960 WP model? The movie was released in 1963.

I know I watched it too. it was like fate I was going to crash real early due to a long day but when I saw doris and that happy soap was on I was glued ha ha. I love me some doris

Paul, I think the washer in the detergent commercial was actually an Imperial and not an Imperial Mark XII.  The one in the "commercial" has 5 wash/rinse temp buttons and a water level dial, there's no programmed cycle buttons.

Jon Charles, I had a very similar reaction when I saw James drive that car into the pool too last night.  And had a gut sickening feeling watching it being retrieved out of said pool.

The Rock & Doris 1964 movie Send Me No Flowers also had a Frigidaire Kitchen--I think the appliance colors were yellow.  I think the dishwasher was an Imperial Spin Tube.
