Happy V-Day to everyone, we had lots of "Fantastic Four" valentines with M&M's attached to them leftover from the school party today (apparently, the cigarettes were more popular than the M&M's ;-) so pop on over and grab some!
Happy Valentine's Day to all on the AWF! Since I'm a simple gal who doesn't need diamonds or flowers, the mister knew that I would love a vintage coffee service and some beautiful balloons!
I hope this day has been filled with love for everyone! Big hugs to all and keep warm!
Happy Valentines Day to All. You could be MINE, but I have one, I can share!!!
Venus:
if you are don't mind, please remove the vintage coffe and replace it with some candies in a cup!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!! That was one of the last places in your home I saw, was the server in the dining room. Enjoy your present. I know Tom is all about you this valentines day!

I had a singing valentine sent to my wife at work yesterday. The local barbershop chorus does them as a fund raiser. You get 2 songs, a long stemmed rose, and a Polaroid of the recipient with the delivering quartet. She said she was so flustered, and choked up too.
Tim: What a cute idea! Did they sing "Let Me Call you Sweetheart"? That one definitely chokes you up!
Kim: I think I qualify for a "Pink Hat". In a few more years (OY), I'll be donning my "Red Hat". How's about I bake a batch of Butterfinger Bars and join y'all for coffee! YUM
Here you go Lawrence....I will not be held responsible for the caloric content of these bars! It's the icing that really gives them their richness. They are sooooooooooo yummy!
Butter Finger Dessert Bars
1 cup butter at room temp.
2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsps. granulated sugar
4 eggs well-beaten
2 cups pecans
2 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 tsps. baking powder
1 cup shredded coconut
Mix butter, 2 cups flour, salt and granulated sugar until crumbly. Press into 9x13 pan. Bake in preheated oven 10-15 mins. at 375 degreesF. Mix eggs, pecans, brown sugar, 1/4 cup flour, baking powder, and coconut together. Spread over cooked pastry. Bake 15 minutes at 375 degreesF. Cool before icing.
Yes Venus, they sang "Let Me Call You Sweetheart", and "I Love You Truly". I used to sing with our local barbershop chorus but work commitments won out, i.e. not enough hours in a day.
I'm bringing bars to work tomorrow; I did a screen capture of your recipe and will make those. They sound great! Hope at least a few of them actually make it out the door in the morning, LOL.
Venus: You are a very naughty girl for posting that Butterfinger bar recipe. I just finished trying them after frosting them, and now I have to go to confession and I'm not even Catholic. They're that "SINFUL", but very delicious especially with a cup of fresh coffee made in my Universal Coffeematic percolator.
Austin: You are a very lucky person to have a Mom that is such a great cook. My Mom is a super cook too, so I guess we are both very fortunate people.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the dessert. Are those bars not the greatest!! You can't make these too often! OY! I can see the inside of my arteries now! LOL
Frig: Did you get a chance to make them as well and send the office into total sugar shock?
